‘Click It or Ticket’ in force Law enforcement agencies throughout the State of New Jersey are currently participating in the national 2013 Click It or Ticket campaign. This campaign calls for zero-tolerance enforcement of safety belt use. Special patrols will be focusing on this issue now through June 2. Fyke hosts Celery Farm Bird Walk The Fyke Nature Association will host a Bird Walk at the Celery Farm Natural Area in Allendale on June 1 at 8 a.m. The group will meet at the Green Way cul-de-sac, which is located off Franklin Turnpike two streets north of the Celery Farm parking lot. Jim Wright and Mike Limatola will lead the group as they look for butterflies, bugs, weird plants, and birds. Nature lovers and birders at all levels are welcome. Participants are encouraged to wear long pants and socks, and to bring water and bug spray. The walk will be followed by an optional half-hour tour of the historic Fell House nearby. Touch of England Car Show set Join the New Jersey Triumph Association on June 8 for the Touch of England Vintage British Automobile & Motorcycle Show. The show will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Hermitage Museum at 335 North Franklin Turnpike in Ho-Ho-Kus. Classic automobiles from British manufacturers including Triumph, MG, Austin-Healey, Jaguar, Lotus, Morgan, TVR, Mini, Sunbeam, Rolls-Royce, Bentley will be featured. (Rain date: June 9.) Admission is $6 for spectators. Proceeds will benefit the Hermitage Museum. Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team to play The Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team will make its first appearance in New Jersey on Saturday, June 8 at Yogi Berra Stadium at Montclair State University in Upper Montclair. The W.W.A.S.T. will play a celebrity doubleheader beginning at 1:30 p.m. when they meet the Comedy Central team on the field. The second game will be played against CBS Sports. Members of the W.W.A.S.T. are veterans and active duty soldiers who have lost limbs while serving our country. Their motto is “Life without a limb is limitless,” and their mission is to raise awareness of the sacrifices and resilience of the military. Grand Slam models, sponsors, and volunteers met at Yansi Fugel’s Flagship Store on East Ridgewood Avenue, Ridgewood to discuss plans for the Second Annual Grand Slam for West Bergen’s Kids. The event will be held June 5, at two tennis facilities: Upper Ridgewood Tennis Club and the Indian Trail Club in Franklin Lakes. The all-day event will begin with morning tennis. The “A Flight” will play at Upper Ridgewood and the “B Flight” at Indian Trail Club. It is a Scrambles format for both flights and refreshments will be served. Lunch will begin at noon at the Indian Trail Club and will include a champagne toast, hors d’oeuvres, wine, and a Fashion Show featuring the spring collection from Yansi Fugel of Ridgewood. Summer Bereavement Group forming The parishes of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Saint Gabriel, and Saint Catharine will jointly sponsor a Bereavement Support Group beginning July 10. The eight-week program will meet on Wednesdays through Aug. 28 from 7:30 to 9 p.m. The program will be held in the Ministry Center Meeting Room at Saint Catharine’s located at 905 South Maple Avenue in Glen Rock.
