The data communications cabling/infrastructure system at Ramsey Borough Hall has been upgraded. The new cabling system was installed by Telecom Support Specialists of Ramsey for $15,987 in conjunction with the response to a bid request managed by the borough’s IT & Finance Department and the borough’s IT consultant, Lonier Financial Advisory, LLC. Three bids were received, and TSS of Ramsey was determined to have submitted the lowest responsible bid. “It was a necessary upgrade for our data and telecommunications system,” Ramsey Mayor Christopher Botta said. The project was completed in two months, with day-to-day project coordination handled by Ramsey IT Coordinator

The project involved the upgrade of the data infrastructure, which included over 225 cable connections, new connecting points, and high technology frames that will provide high speed access platforms for all borough departments and functions, including finance, tax, engineering, zoning, construction, OEM, courts, and all administrative offices. The new cable installation will also allow all borough departments to function more efficiently and at lower costs than the previous infrastructure and cable connectivity system, by allowing the network to function with upgraded state-of-the-art hardware and software systems.
