Water safety instructor course offered The YWCA Bergen County will offer the American Red Cross Water Instructor Safety Course from May 28 through June 13. The course certifies individuals ages 16 years and older to teach American Red Cross swim lessons and includes teaching skills for all levels, critiquing skills to correct swim strokes, and instructions on making lesson plans. Participants must take and pass a water skills test, which will be held on Wednesday, May 22 at 7:30 p.m. Classes will be held on select weeknights and Sundays at the YWCA’s Harmony Celebration Chorus of Ridgewood has announced that Just4(Kicks), a quartet comprised of four of its members, has captured third place in the Region 15 quartet contest held in Philadelphia. The Region 15 chorus competition followed later, at which the 55 member chorus competed and won the first place Mid-Size Chorus Award and placed second overall.
