Crifasi serves as Bergen County’s director of public works. The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. in the Mahwah Senior Center at 475 Corporate Drive. Pool offers lessons, aquatic teams Registration is taking place for swim lessons at the Mahwah Municipal Pool. Group swim lessons are offered in two sessions: Session One will meet each Monday, Thursday, and Friday morning, starting on July 5. Session Two will be held each weekday morning during the first two weeks in August. The cost for each session is $85. Pool membership is not required. Registration for group swim lessons is held at the Mahwah Pool at 700 Darlington Avenue. For details, call (201) 529-4949. Registration is also under way for the Marlins swimming and diving teams. This year’s swim coaches will be Dawnn Lindsey, Quincy Creadick, and Erin Kelly. Diving will be taught by Kate Kearney and Jen Ullman. The teams meet for practice in the early morning. There will be an extra dive practice at 5 p.m. Swim meets are held on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The diving team competes on Tuesdays and Fridays. Pool membership is required to register for the teams. The fee is $85 for the first member and $50 for each additional family member. Registration takes place at the pool. Library hosts summer programs The Mahwah Public Library is offering a variety of summer programs. The library hosts summer reading programs for adult, teens, and children. Registration is open all summer. The Reader Rewards Card program is under way and offers patrons the opportunity to win some great prizes just for visiting the library. Each day a cardholder visits the library to borrow a book, magazine, DVD, or CD, he or she will receive a stamp on his or her Reader Rewards card. Prizes for the program include car magnets, T-shirts, mugs, and tote bags for every 10 stamps received. After receiving 10 stamps, participants earn a ticket for the contest to win a new Kindle eReader. The Reader Rewards program will runs until Labor Day. On June 26, Kurt Gallagher will launch the summer reading program for children with a 4 p.m. concert. The library will be returning to the pool again this year. Children’s Librarian Mr. Wilson will host “Storytime and Snacks” at the Mahwah Pool periodically throughout the summer. For patrons who will be traveling this summer, the library has over 5,000 free e-books and e-audiobooks available. The library also allows patrons to borrow eReaders. Board of health to meet The Mahwah Board of Health will meet on Tuesday, July 9 at 7:30 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Mahwah Municipal Building, 475 Corporate Drive. College to host summer concerts Area residents are invited to the 2013 TD Bank Summer Concert Series, which will be hosted by the Ramapo College Foundation on the campus in Mahwah. The best of rock and pop tribute bands will headline on four Thursday evenings. The season will begin July 11 with Slippery When Wet, a Bon Jovi tribute band. The band members’ appearance and musical talents will make the audience think they are at a Bon Jovi concert. Fireworks will follow. The rain date for the fireworks will be July 18. On July 25, Jimmy & the Parrots, a Jimmy Buffett tribute band, will take the audience back to that unforgettable island vacation. This will be “Margaritaville” at its best. The Chicago tribute band, Beginnings, will perform a concert with an electrifying horn section and rich vocals on Aug. 1. The concerts begin at 8 p.m. at the shell. The performances are free, but parking is $5 per vehicle. In the event of rain, concerts will be held in Bradley Center Arena. Chambers host Picnic & Baseball The Mahwah Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Pearl River (New York) Chamber of Commerce will host Picnic & Baseball on Friday, June 28, at the Rockland Boulders Stadium. The stadium is located at 1 Provident Bank Park Drive in Pomona, New York. The gates will open at 6 p.m. and the picnic will begin at 6:30 p.m. At 7 p.m., the Rockland Boulders will take on the Quebec Les Capitales. Ticket prices are $22 for all Chamber members and $27 for non-members. Each ticket includes a reserved seat for the game and an unlimited barbecue buffet at the Bridge Bar from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. It is ‘80s Night, so guests may dress in style and enjoy contests and music from the 1980s. Wednesday Night Worship slated The Ramapo Reformed Church at 100 Island Road in Mahwah will host a Wednesday Night Worship Series beginning June 26.
