The Mahwah Public Library’s 15th Summer Music Festival will continue with free concerts at 7 p.m. Seating is available on a “first come” basis. “Rising Stars,” young artists of the Academy of Music, will perform on June 18. International stars of tomorrow will join with world renowned artists to perform solo and chamber music works by Bach, Beethoven, Schubert, Mendelssohn, Dvorak, Brahms, Bartok, and others. The artistic director for the Academy of Music is Isaac Malkin. On June 26, cellist Nada Radulovich and pianist Cullan Bryant will perform in recital featuring the works of Bach, Sarasate, Corigliano, and Bloch. Radulovich has a repertoire ranging from Bach and Beethoven to Liszt, Stravinsky, and Rorem. She presents music for cello and piano with Bryant. Having performed from an early age in her Midwest hometown, she moved on to complete three degrees in music, lived for a short time in Japan, and returned to settle in New York City. Recent performances have been at Steinway Hall, the Roerich Museum, Smith College, and Detroit’s Central United Methodist Church. She is a passionate, ambitious musician and devoted

instructor. This program was recently performed at the Bruno Walter Auditorium at the New York Library for the Performing Arts. Bryant is among the most active chamber and collaborative pianists in New York City, maintaining a schedule of over 70 recitals a year. He has performed with many worldclass artists, including Ju-Young Baek, Emanuel Borok, Colin Jacobsen, Misha Keylin, Oleh Krysa, Julia Lichten, Midori, Sviatoslav Moroz, Peter Rejto, and Paul Tobias. He has also performed with members of the Amati, American, Arcata, and Borromeo quartets; and members of the New York Philharmonic, Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, the Orchestra of Saint Luke’s, New York City Ballet Orchestra, New Jersey Symphony, Boston Symphony, and the Detroit Symphony Orchestra in such venues as Weill Recital Hall, Merkin Hall, Alice Tully Hall, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and Detroit’s Orchestra Hall. Bryant made his Carnegie Hall debut in 1992 in recital with violinist Patmore Lewis. Doors to the Winter Room will be closed when the concert begins. Stand-in staffers
Two students, the winners of a fundraising event, from Joyce Kilmer School in Mahwah (fourth and fifth grade) recently got to be principal and vice principal for the day. Their duties included making announcements and classroom checks, and helping with radios at a security drill.
