Miller, grandson of the founder, the business recently underwent an extensive, two-year renovation. The vintage 1860 building now includes two fitting rooms for clients who need items including braces, stockings, and wigs (a new offering at Millers). David notes that home visits are also available for clients who require fittings. “We also work with Angels of Hope, an organization that helps women with cancer and in our case, pays for wigs for those in need,” David adds. Owner and President David The renovation allowed MillMiller and Clinical Nutritionist ers to expand its many specialty Bob Lukasik programs and add a nutrition center. Headed by Doctor of Clinical Nutrition Bob Lukasik, the center carries over 100 brands of high-quality supplements. The center’s unique wellness programs allow patients to consult with the nutritionist and then follow up with a pharmacist regarding current medications, and then, if needed, with a pharmacologist regarding hormone regulation. The experts at Millers then work with the patient’s physician and make recommendations. He adds that Millers is one of only 75 accredited compounding labs in the United States, having received accreditation from the Professional Compounding Accreditation Board in June 2012. The pharmacy has been compounding for more than 30 years – a fact that became of critical importance when Tamiflu® was in short supply during the recent flu epidemic. Due to the pharmacy’s compounding ability, Millers was able to make up its own supply of this pediatric medication. Hours are 9-8 weekdays and 9-4 Saturdays. fter launching Propel Physical Therapy & Athletic Performance in Boonton in 2009, Dr. William Bottino decided to expand his successful enterprise by opening a second location in Wyckoff last year. Dr. Bottino and his staff members take pride in continually working with the same patient from start to finish, so each Propel professional spends the maximum amount of one-on-one time with every patient. “When you stick with the same person throughout the whole process, you build a good relationship with that person, and can better focus on his or her needs,” the doctor adds. Dr. Bottino points out that direct access is now the law. In short, that means patients are free to visit Propel without a referral or a prescription. Because Propel’s professionals are trained in differential diagnosis, they are aware that a physical issue, such as back pain, may actually be an organ problem presenting as back pain, Dr. Bottino notes. He and his staff work closely with local physicians and orthopedic surgeons to help provide the best care for their patients. Propel can help patients with general sports injuries; individuals who have undergone hip or knee replacement surgery or elbow surgery; those with chronic back pain, neuropathy, balance deficits, gait problems and a host of other issues. The doctor became interested in health care as a young athlete. After he injured his knee, Dr. Bottino’s surgeon sent him to a physical therapist. While working with the therapist, he realized the importance of being able to get back to the activities he enjoys. He later graduated from the University of Delaware and received his doctorate in physical therapy from Widener University. Before he opened Propel’s original location, he worked at Morristown Memorial Hospital and at a pri-

When he decided to go out on his own, he brought with him the best elements of all of his previous experiences in the field. “Propel is not a conglomerate,” he stresses. “We are privately-owned so we are flexible with our patients.” Propel Physical Therapy & Athletic Performance is located at 577 Goffle Road (in the strip mall near Haw-
thorne Chevrolet). The location includes ample parking with easy access to the building. Propel accepts most major insurance and Medicare. Hours are 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays and 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays. Call (201) 857-5910 or visit propelptap.com for more information.
