The Mahwah Regional Chamber of Commerce recently honored its annual award recipients. The 2013 honorees included: 2012 Citizen of the Year, Dr. Peter P. Mercer; 2012 Company of the Year, Inserra Supermarkets, Inc.; and 2012 Organization of the Year, Mahwah Environmental Volunteers Organization, Inc. (MEVO.) The Chamber also announced that its 21st Annual Golf Outing, held in September at the prestigious Tuxedo Club in Tuxedo, New York, raised $33,000 for The Valley Hospital Foundation. Golfers tested their skills on the 18-hole course lead by forecaddies, a few individuals learned the sport for the first time, and an army of volunteers made sure the day went smoothly. Evening festivities were held at the main clubhouse where Mr. David F. Bolger, the President of the Bolger Foundation, was honored as the MRCC’s 2012 Humanitarian of the Year. All attendees were rewarded with a fabulous day of outdoor activities, followed by an unforgettable evening program, exciting prizes, awards, and dinner. This event is the Chamber’s largest annual fundraiser, in which a portion of the proceeds is donated to a charity of (continued on page 16)
