Adams remembered at marathon
Ramsey Office of Emergency Management Deputy Coordinator Glen Karpovich recently traveled to Washington, D.C. to run in the Marine Corps Marathon. Karpovich ran in honor of past Ramsey OEM Coordinator Mike Adams who died last year. For the run, Karpovich wore a special patch with the initials MFA in honor of Adams. “Mike was a big supporter of the Marine Corps Physical Fitness Team at Ramsey High School, the Murray Nuts. He would be thrilled with this; it is an honor to be able to do this,” Karpovich said. During the marathon, supporters along the route held up signs. Some of those signs said, “Run fast. There is a hurricane following you.” They were correct. Immediately after completing the 26.2 mile marathon, Karpovich headed back to Ramsey, where Hurricane Sandy hit the next day.
