Genevieve H. Benning of Mahwah died Feb. 4. She was 83. She was born in Chicago, Illinois to Leo and Katherine Huntsinger. She was a member of the Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Mahwah, and Opus-Dei. She is survived by her children Christopher, Kathleen, Matthew, Theresa, and Richard, nine grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband Calvin J. Benning. Arrangements were made by Scarr Funeral Home Inc. in Suffern. James P. Cummins of Mahwah and Vero Beach died Feb. 7. He was 75. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He grew up in Manhattan, attended grade school at Good Shepherd School, and was a 1955 graduate of Cardinal Hayes High School. He served in the New York City Police Department before joining the New York City Fire Department in 1963, where he served for 30 years until his retirement as a captain in 1993. He was a parishioner of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Mahwah. He is survived by his wife Kay O’Connell, his children Laura Cummins, Jerry, Chris, Kathy Van Allen, Nancy Walsh, and Kevin, 15 grandchildren, his sister Betty Byrne, and his nieces and nephews. Barbara Fleming, nee Manzer, of Mahwah, formerly of Ridgewood, died Feb. 8. She was 83. She had worked at Pediatric Dental Associates in Ridgewood for over 20 years. She was a member of West Side Presbyterian Church in Ridgewood, where she volunteered in the office. She was a volunteer at Kurth Cottage at the Valley Hospital and at The Depot in Midland Park. She was a member of Upper Ridgewood Tennis Club. She is survived by her children J. Harris Fleming Jr., Garrett Alan Fleming, and Claudia Ann Stevens, and four grandchildren. Keuerleber of Midland Park died Feb. 7. She was 77. She was born in Newport News, Virginia, and had lived in Paterson. She was a member of the Church of the Nativity in Midland Park, where she was involved in many parish activities. She is survived by her children Maryann Meehan of Midland Park, Richard Keuerleber of York, Pennsylvania, Katherine Marsden of Waldwick, and John Keuerleber of Campbell Hall, New York, and 11 grandchildren. Before retiring in 1985, he was employed at Becton Dickinson for 38 years. He is survived by his wife Sally (Stevens) Lewicky, his children Steve and Nan, and four grandchildren. She was a graduate of Paterson Teacher’s College (now William Paterson University), and had been a teacher with the Oradell Board of Education for 43 years. She was a parishioner of Saint Luke’s R.C. Church in Ho-Ho-Kus. She is survived by her husband Thomas, and her niece Irene and her nephew Henry, both of Tennessee. She was predeceased by a brother and two sisters. Pless of Saddle River died Feb. 8. She was 18. She is survived by her parents Kathleen Pless and Robert J. Pless, her siblings Anne, Mary, and Jane, and her grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Kevin Michael Walsh of Glen Rock died Feb. 8 He was 21. He was a parishioner of Saint Catherine R.C. Church in Glen Rock, and was a probationary member of the Glen Rock Fire Department. He was employed with the Radiator Store in Saddle Brook. He is survived by his parents Richard and Eileen (Buser) Walsh, his sisters Meghan and Katie Walsh, his grandmother Maria “Oma” Walsh, his aunts and uncles Mary-Ann Ruckhaus and her husband Mark, Kenny Buser and his wife Heather, Joseph Walsh and his wife Maggie, Robert Walsh and his wife Debbie, John Walsh and his wife Ruslana, and Paul Halsch. He is also survived by his cousins Sarah, Brian, Kelly, and Lorraine. He was predeceased by his grandparents Joseph Walsh, and Warren and Geraldine Buser, his uncle Michael Buser, and his aunt Lorraine Halsch. James Phillip Wrocklage of Waldwick died Feb. 8. He was 52. He was a graduate of Northern Highlands Regional High School in Allendale. He was a volunteer at WPI Productions, and a volunteer photographer for the America Legion Post 57, both in Waldwick. A collector of military paraphernalia, he was well known for his World War I Doughboy uniform, which he wore at Memorial Day parades and other commemorative events. His followed his passion to gain recognition for local soldiers and sailors. He is survived by his mother Josephine A. of Waldwick, his siblings Thomas E. of Waldwick, Daniel G. of Kinnelon, Michael J. of Santa Barbara, California, Richard D. of Wanaque, Donald P. of Oakland, George J. of Upper Saddle River, Elizabeth M. Wrocklage of Waldwick, and Eileen M. Pillori of Parsippany. He is also survived by 11 nieces and nephews, and two grand-nieces. He was predeceased by his father George H. Carol Zacharski of Glen Rock died Feb. 9. She was 61. She was a lunch aide at Central Elementary School in Glen Rock. She is survived by her brother Richard Zacharski and sister-in-law Nanci, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents John and Mildred Zacharski, and her sister Dolores Saxton.
