He was born in Visakhapatnam, India and came to the United States in 1995. He is survived by his wife Edna (Rajaratnam) Harding, his children Nalini Bethala, M.D., Rajini Comfort, and Malini Harding, and his granddaughter Samira Ruth Bethala. Arrangements were made by Becker Funeral Home in Westwood. Charles Anthony Kapp of Ridgewood died Feb. 7. He was 89. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II. He was raised in California, and attended Saint Ignatius Preparatory School and the University of San Francisco. He had been a marketing executive with Pfizer Labs and Beecham, Inc. He is survived by his wife Mary Grace, his children Lawrence, Leslie O’Neil, and Terese Tewalt, six grandchildren, and one niece. Arrangements were made by C.C. Van Emburgh Funeral Home in Ridgewood. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Paterson State College (now William Paterson University). She worked as a science teacher for the Cresskill Board of Education for 30 years. She made floral arrangements and gift baskets for her Bags & Baskets business. She volunteered at the Luckow Center in Paramus, and was a member of the Church of the Most Blessed Sacrament R.C. Originally from Gloucester, Massachusetts, he still holds the all-time career scoring record for the Gloucester High School basketball team, averaging 36 points per game. He achieved high school All-American status in 1961. He played for University of Miami in Florida, graduating in 1967. He was the executive vice president at Maxell Patricia Casperino Albert William Harding, M.D. Corporation of America, where he was a corporate officer and served on the board of directors. He received the 1994 Human Relations Award from the American Jewish Committee. He was selected by industry peers to Best of ’98 Dealerscope Hall of Fame, and received the Patricia Rienzi Legacy Award from the National Consumer Technology Industry Anti-Defamation League in 2007. He sat on the Consumer Electronics Association’s Board of Industry Leaders from 2007 to 2010. He was the owner of Clixes in Wyckoff. He was a member of Faith Community Christian Reformed Church in Wyckoff, and a member of the Baseball and Softball Association in Hawthorne. He is survived by his wife Lynn (nee Dries) Pruiksma of Hawthorne, his children David, Heather, and Steven Pruiksma, and his siblings Robert Pruiksma and Carole Arnoldi. She had been a registered nurse with the Visiting Nurses of New York for many years, and was a participant in various volunteer activities in Wyckoff. She was a parishioner of Saint Elizabeth R.C. Church in Wyckoff for over 50 years, where she was member of the Rosary Society. She is survived by her children Molly Reilly, Virginia Murphy, Elizabeth Fisher, Patricia Ryan, Michael Ryan, Margaret McDonnell, and James J. Ryan III, 19 grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband James J. Ryan, and her grandson Seamus McDonnell. She attended Hunter College in the 1950s and graduated from Ramapo College in 1982 with a degree in history. She started a volleyball league for women in Franklin Lakes and was involved for many years with the Valley Hospital Bridge Group. She is survived by her husband Bob Paine, her children Linda Maley of Mahwah, Lisa Keyser of Mahwah, Robert Paine of Fort Lee, and Gregg Paine of New York City, five grandchildren, and her brother Peter Arguelles of Palm Springs, California. Thelma Spivak, nee Goresky, of Franklin Lakes, formerly of Chestnut Ridge, New York, died. Arrangements were made by Eden Memorial Chapels in Fort Lee. William Edgar Strakosch of Falmouth, Massachusetts, formerly of Ho-Ho-Kus, Ridgewood, and Cheshire, Connecticut, died Jan. 18. He was 88. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He attended Willard Elementary School and graduated from Ridgewood High School in 1943. He worked for Yegan Associates during the ‘50s and into the early ‘60s. He purchased and operated Countryside Volkswagen and Lincoln Mercury in Torrington, Connecticut. In 1972, he became the owner of WES Cadillac Oldsmobile in Waterbury, Connecticut. He owned and operated this business until he retired in 2002. He was named president of the Tri-State Cadillac Advertising Group, and held this position for a number of years. He is survived by his children William Strakosch of Middlebury, Connecticut, Nancy Strakosch-Gross from Grandview-on-Hudson, New York, and Amy Strakosch-Moniz from Sandwich, Massachusetts, and eight grandchildren. She was a sous chef at Le Cirque on 65th Street in Manhattan. She is survived by her children Robert Vermeulen, David Vermeulen, Joanne Dressing, and Maryann Balsly, seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
