The All Seasons Chamber Players, one of New Jersey’s most popular and active chamber music ensembles, will return to the Mahwah Public Library on Sunday, April 28 for a 2 p.m. concert. Admission is free, and the public is invited. The program, “Ein Musikalisches Fest,” will feature classical favorites celebrating the lives of German speaking masters from the classical and romantic eras. The program will include Haydn’s “Trio for flute,” “Cello and Piano in D Major,” Beethoven’s “Sonata for Violin and Piano in A,” “Op. 30, No. 1” and Mendelssohn’s “Trio in D Minor for Piano, Violin, and Cello,” Op. 40,” one of the best known and most loved trios in the chamber music repertoire. Robert Lawrence, co-director for programs, will introduce each piece with entertaining spoken program notes. Now in its 32nd season, the chamber group has performed over 670 live concerts in the metropolitan area. In addition, thousands of people have heard the ensemble on Cablevision’s MetroArts/13 programs, Comcast, WTT-35, and other local cable stations. from several corporations and foundations and over 150 members of Friends of All Seasons. Performers are professional musicians who also play with major area orchestras, Broadway shows, and summer music festivals. Performers will include flutist Brenda Sakofsky of New City, New York, violinist Robert Lawrence of New York City, cellist E. Zoe Hassman of New York City, pianist Jean Strickholm of Demarest, and guest pianist Virginia Perry Lamb of New Milford. Lamb holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music from the Eastman School of Music and has performed widely in the United States and abroad. She has recorded with numerous principal players of the New York Philharmonic brass section and with her husband, Chris Lamb. She has appeared at Avery Fisher Hall on the Philharmonic’s Saturday Matinee Series and on its Merkin Hall Chamber Matinee Series. She taught the art of accompanying at the Manhattan School of Music for 20 years, and now maintains an active teaching studio in New Milford.
