Lori Fiori of Morris Township was elected first vice chair and Harold Lunde of Mendham Township was elected treasurer of the board. Anne Marie Campbell of Midland Park, Virginia Laughlin of Paterson, Lilie Donahue of Parsippany, Douglas Sanchez of Mahwah, and Wendy Shen of Teterboro were unanimously elected as members-at-larger by delegates representing 160 communities in northern New Jersey. Allison Homler of Mahwah, Molly Seeber of River Edge, and Brianna Weck of Allendale, were unanimously elected as girl representatives to the board. Bette Simmons of Morristown and Victor Nichols of Maplewood were unanimously elected to the Board Development Committee. Campbell has 21 years of experience in health care public relations, marketing, and advertising, having served as the vice president of public relations at Hackensack University Medical Center. She is a founding member of the Midland Park Public Education Foundation and serves on its board. Sanchez is the managing partner of the New Jersey office of Cruser, Mitchell & Sanchez, LLC and specializes in civil litigation. He is a former adjunct professor at Bergen County Community College and a former member of the Bergen (continued on page 18) GSA welcomes board members A fundraiser has been set for Friday, June 14 to help raise money for a new wheelchair for Kaitlin Spreen (pictured). Spreen, a Waldwick High School freshman, was diagnosed with a neuromuscular disease called Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 2, when she was 15 months old. SMA2 is hereditary and causes weakness and wasting of the voluntary muscles in the arms and legs of infants and children. Spreen has outgrown her wheelchair, which had been previously donated by the television show, “Regis and Kelly” over seven years ago. A new wheelchair is expected to cost between $15,000 and $17,500, which is a large financial burden for the Spreen family. Friends of the Spreens decided to help. The New Ride for Kaitlin event will take place at The Village Grill, located at 71 Crescent Avenue, Waldwick. It will include an evening of karaoke and open bar from 9:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Tickets are $50 and may be reserved in advance.
