Page 10 THE VILLADOM TIMES III • May 15, 2013 The DIGS 17 Red Club Volleyball Team recently attended USA Volleyball’s Northeast Qualifier in Philadelphia, one of a few qualifying tournaments held nationally to qualify for USA Volleyball’s National Championships. The DIGS 17 Red team played in the elite Open Division and finished in fourth place overall. They beat several powerhouse teams from California, Texas, and Pennsylvania among others. As a result, the team qualified for USA Volleyball’s National Championships, which will be held in Dallas at the end of June. The team is now one of the top 32 in the country playing in this elite bracket for the national championship. This is the first team in the region’s history to qualify for the national championships in the open division. In other news, the team recently won the regional championship, coming in first out of 70 teams in the region.
