The event will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. in back of the public safety complex on Prospect Street. The festivities will include food, beverage, and music by Last Minute. All are invited. The department’s new $535,000 vehicle, which arrived in early January ahead of its spring delivery schedule, features a 750-gallon water tank and a foam tank. The truck can accommodate eight firefighters, double the capacity of its 1985 predecessor. The vehicle incorporates the latest features in addition to many old ones, such as an old-fashioned bell, a booster reel on top of the roof, and a lower hose bed for easy access. Baskin (continued from page 4) gained experience and knowledge; I can help teachers teach and I can work with other administrators to assure that Waldwick continues to grow,” Baskin said. During her tenure at WHS, Baskin has taught students at all levels, including Advanced Placement. She has revamped the curriculum for honors level courses to reflect higher standards, completed an approved NJ Department of Education course in mentoring, mentored many novice teachers over the years, and she had been viewed by many of her colleagues as a departmental leader, according to Dr. Raupers. She has also served on many faculty committees, including, most recently, the District Evaluation Advisory Committee. Baskin completed her undergraduate studies at Ohio University, where she graduated with honors, and received an MS in English from Montclair State University. In addition, Baskin holds a Supervisor’s Certificate from Seton Hall University.
