Waldwick
New flags are up
Waldwick Mayor Tom Giordano, left, and Superintendent of Public Works Joe Agugliaro admire the new decorative flags erected on street poles in the center of town last week. Featuring patriotic or spring motifs, the 30 banners will stay up until November, to be replaced by holiday flags. “It’s the little details that make people proud of where they live,” said Mayor Giordano of his decision to advance the flag project to spruce up the town. He said the old flags were 15 years old and getting shabby. Chamber of Commerce President Christine Figliuolo said she hopes to make the holiday flags a chamber project, where local businesses can sponsor each flag.
