Donations sought for Attic Treasures Sale The Waldwick United Methodist Church is seeking donations of gently-used items for its Annual Attic Treasures Sale, which will be held April 19 and 20. Items for the sale will be accepted on April 17 and 18 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and from 5 to 8 p.m. at the church located at 25 Franklin Turnpike. Donation letters are available. Register for Warrior Football & Cheerleading Registration for fall 2013 Waldwick Warrior Football & Cheerleading season will be held on Tuesday, March 19. Registration will take place in the Waldwick High School cafeteria from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. During the registration, children will be measured for equipment and photo cards will be made. Flag football and mini cheerleading programs are available for children who will be entering first and second grade in September. Cheerleading and tackle football programs are open to children who will be entering grades three through eight. Football players who attend registration night will receive a personalized practice jersey and cheerleaders who attend will receive a T-shirt. Scouts hold Newspaper Drive On Saturday, March 16, Waldwick Boy Scouts will collect newspapers to be recycled. Residents are reminded to bundle papers in stacks no more than eight inches high and leave the bundles at the curb the night before the newspaper collection. Any papers put at the curb after 8 a.m. on Saturday may be missed. PSO plans Military Bridge benefit Julia A. Traphagen’s PSO will host its 15th Annual Military Bridge and Prize Basket fundraiser on Friday, March 22 at Saint Luke’s Gym, 340 North Franklin Turnpike in Ho-Ho-Kus. The doors will open at 7 pm. Appetizers, refreshments, and desserts will be served. Over 100 prize baskets will be available. Prizes include a Sharp 46” Aquos Smart TV with built in WiFi and four Disney Hopper Passes. Tickets are $20 per person or $80 for a table of four. Included in the cost of the ticket is one sheet of prize basket tickets. Holy Week services announced The Waldwick United Methodist Church located at 25 Franklin Avenue welcomes everyone to its Holy Week services. On Palm Sunday, March 24, the service will be held at 10:30 a.m. At 7:30 p.m. on Maundy Thursday, March 28, the service will be held at Bergen Highlands United Methodist Church, which is located at 318 West Saddle River Road in Upper Saddle River. The 7:30 p.m. service will include a reenactment of the Last Supper. Congregations from Park Ridge United Methodist Church and Archer United Methodist Church are also invited. On Easter Sunday, March 31, the church will hold a Sunrise service at 8:30 a.m., coffee and bagels at 9 a.m., and the Easter service at 10:30 a.m. WEF Town Wide Garage Sale set The Waldwick Education Foundation will host a Town Wide Garage Sale on April 20 and 21. Participating households will have their addresses included on the map provided to bargain seekers on the day of the sale.
