The event celebrates the 20th year of the organization, which has awarded over $1 million in grants to enhance the educational experience of children at the Ho-Ho-Kus Public School. Nursery school hosts Open House The Ho-Ho-Kus/Waldwick Cooperative Nursery School will host Open Houses on Feb. 8 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and on Feb. 13 from 7 to 9 p.m. Parents and their preschoolers are invited to stop in to see the classrooms and meet with the teachers and current co-op members. Classes for two-, three- and four-year-old children and Mommy & Me, open to children 18 to 24 months old, are available for the 2013-14 school year. The nursery school offers various educational enrichment programs, including music and foreign languages. Extended day options are also available. The school provides a unique co-op opportunity for parents who wish to assist in their child’s classroom. Parents may also choose non-participating co-op status. Library holds Winter Story Time Winter Story Time sessions are under way at the WorthPinkham Memorial Library, located at 91 Warren Avenue in Ho-Ho-Kus. This program meets on Tuesdays at 1:30 p.m. and Wednesdays at 11:45 a.m. Registration is not required. The program is recommended for children ages three and up. Eighth graders exhibit artwork Eighth graders from the Ho-Ho-Kus Public School are displaying their paintings at the Worth-Pinkham Memorial Library during January. The library is located at 91 Warren Avenue. In February, the seventh graders will exhibit their work. Police accept Reverse 911 updates Ho-Ho-Kus Police Chief John Wanamaker reminds residents who are not currently on the borough’s Reverse 911 list to call the police desk at (201) 652-1700 to have their contact information added. Anyone with a change of information or a new phone number is invited to call. The borough’s Reverse 911 system allows the municipality to relay important information to residents via telephone. While many residents’ home numbers are listed as part of the Reverse 911 system, citizens also have the option of registering their cell phone numbers so they may receive messages when they are away from home. Master plan information sought Local residents are being asked for their assistance with the history element of the Ho-Ho-Kus Master Plan, which is now being updated. Planning Board Chairman and Borough Historian John Hanlon requests details about Ho-HoKus history and relevant photos. Members of the public who wish to contribute information about Ho-Ho-Kus history are invited to call borough hall at (201) 652-4400, extension 137, or visit historyplan@ho-ho-kusboro.com. ‘Treasures from Ho-Ho-Kus’ for sale The Contemporary Cub of Ho-Ho-Kus is offering its “Treasures from Ho-Ho-Kus” cookbook for $20. This edition is a revision of the 1975 “Ho-Ho-Kus Hostesses” cookbook. The updated version contains favorite recipes, some of which are over 100 years old, from residents, past and present U.S. Presidents, the Ho-Ho-Kus Inn, and the Hermitage.
