Doctor Evangel offers state-ofthe-art chiropractic care
pioneer in his field, Dr. Evangel was the first chiropractor in the tri-state area to use the Pro-Adjuster, which analyzes and adjusts the spine with gentle percussive waves (thumps) without twisting the spine. The technology was developed by NASA to check for metal fatigue on the Space Shuttle and provides information to determine specifically which vertebrae to adjust. Dr. Evangel was featured demonstrating the Pro-Adjuster on many television news programs including Fox TV’s “Good Day NY” since he began working with the instrument in 200l. He now has the “grandson” of the Pro-Adjuster, The Ultralign G2, which brings computerized chiropractic a quantum leap past its predecessor. The doctor uses Spinal Rejuvenative Therapy, a form of spinal Dr. Evangel decompression that can reduce disc herniations. He also advocates appropriate exercise and nutrition. Cold laser therapy is also part of treatment. Dr. Evangel explains that red and infrared light accelerate healing by improving mitochondrial function. His newest therapy is the ZenPro 5900, which is whole body vibration therapy that improves bone density, tones muscles, releases endorphins, improves balance and coordination, enhances blood flow and oxygenation, and lowers the stress hormone cortisol. Dr. Evangel’s credentials include being a police defensive tactics instructor and holding a 7th degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. He received a BA in biology, teaching certification in the sciences, and an MA in environmental studies from Montclair State University. He received his doctor of chiropractic degree from New York Chiropractic College in 1985 and has been in private practice since 1986. Dr. Evangel is located at 56 North Central Avenue, Ramsey. nity on Saturday, Feb. 23 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. All are welcome to learn more about Eye Level, which provides supplementary and enrichment math, reading, and writing instruction to students from ages three through 15. Eye Level is based on an educational principle where students learn at their own pace. When an instructor understands the learning needs of a student, the teaching is most effective. Eye Level’s program is sequential in nature, building constantly on previous subject matter and allowing every child to master one level of the curriculum before progressing to the next. InstrucOwner/Director Jim Lockard tors provide continuous guidance, allowing students to set attainable goals and learn at a comfortable, individualized pace. Instructors help students learn new concepts and guide them to work through problems themselves. Children attend Eye Level one hour each week per subject and work with an instructor in small groups. Students then receive about 15 minutes worth of homework per night. “We like to think of it like exercise for the brain: You need to do a little each day to gain the full benefit,” Lockard says. At Eye Level, it is important that children have fun. “If they’re not having fun, they’re not learning,” Lockard asserts. The program offers a unique Critical Thinking Math component which allows students to develop depth perception, problem solving, and reasoning skills. Eye Level’s goal is to nurture lifelong learners, critical thinkers, and problem solvers who have the tools to succeed at every level of formal education and beyond. To learn more, or to schedule a free assessment for a student, call (201) 9629229.
