Ara “Ira” Babigian of Upper Saddle River, formerly of Cresskill, died Feb. 3. He was 84. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a graduate of Yale University, and was a manager of Woolworth’s Department Store for 42 years. He was a member of the Armenian Church. He is survived by his children Peter and Daniel, his daughter-in-law Lily, son-in-law Fernando, three grandchildren, and his brothers John and Dick Babigian. He was predeceased by his wife Marion. Memorial donations may be made to the Armenian Home in Emerson. Corinne Neubert-Barchfeld, nee Weidbrecht, of Upper Saddle River died Feb. 4 She was 85. She was a parishioner of the Church of the Presentation in Upper Saddle River. She is survived by her children Richard Neubert, Patrice Cannon, and Michelle Elliott, stepchild Cindy BarchfeldRothchild, 10 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her first husband Richard Neubert, and her second husband George Barchfeld. Arrangements were made by Feeney Funeral Home in Ridgewood. He was the owner and operator of Hair Master for 40 years, and a barber since age 16. He was a parishioner of Saint Luke’s R.C. Church in HoHo-Kus. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Waldwick, and he had been a Waldwick soccer coach. He is survived by his wife Susan (nee Flanagan) De Rosa, his sons Frank Christopher III and Joseph Ryan, his sister Rachael Edwards of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Pamela. Joseph Gitto Jr. of Allendale, formerly of Ridgewood, died Feb. 2. He was 59. He was a graduate of Xaverian High School in Bay Ridge, New York and Villanova University. He was a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon, and held a master’s degree in taxation. He was an accredited estate planner and was the recipient of the 2011 Five Star Wealth Manager award by New Jersey Monthly Magazine. He was a certified public accountant and a tax partner with Becher, Della Torre, Gitto & Company in Ridgewood since 1989. Previously he had worked at several large accounting firms. He was president of the Estate Planning Council of Bergen County. He was a coach for the Ridgewood Maroons Girls Soccer Club for many years, and for Allendale Recreation

Albert William Harding, M.D. of Upper Saddle River, formerly of Hillsdale, died Feb. 4. He was 90. He was born in Visakhapatnam, India and came to the United States in 1995. He is survived by his wife Edna (Rajaratnam) Harding, his children Nalini Bethala, M.D., Rajini Comfort, and Malini Harding, and his granddaughter Samira Ruth Bethala. Arrangements were made by Becker Funeral Home in Westwood. Edward J. McCauley of Saddle River died Feb. 5. He was 80. Before retiring after 56 years of service, he was an executive vice president for Jaguar Motors. He was a parishioner of the R.C. Church of Saint Gabriel in Saddle River. He is survived by his wife Rose (nee Webber), his children Patricia Koswosky, Edward J. McCauley, and Kathleen Beau, five grandchildren, and his brother James McCauley. Donald J. Patrican of Franklin Lakes died Feb. 3. He was 69. Originally from Gloucester, Massachusetts, he still holds the all-time career scoring record for the Gloucester High School basketball team, averaging 36 points per game. He achieved high school All-American status in 1961. He played for University of Miami in Florida, graduating in 1967. He was the executive vice president at Maxell Corporation of America, where he was a corporate officer and served on the board of directors. He received the 1994 Human Relations Award from the American Jewish Committee. He was selected by industry peers to Best of ’98 Dealerscope Hall of Fame, and received the Patricia Rienzi Legacy Award from the National Consumer Technology Industry Anti-Defamation League in 2007. He sat on the Consumer Electronics Association’s Board of Industry Leaders from 2007 to 2010. He is survived by his wife Jeanne (nee Mattie), his son Julian of New York City, and his brother David of Port Ritchie, Florida. Arrangements were made by Vander Plaat Funeral Home in Wyckoff. She is survived by her children and their spouses Chris and Mike, Terri and Donn, Jean and Bob, Michael and Cheryl, Maria and Chris, Robert and Eileen, and nine, grandchildren, and her siblings Rose and Peter. William Edgar Strakosch of Falmouth, Massachusetts, formerly of Ho-Ho-Kus, Ridgewood, and Cheshire, Connecticut, died Jan. 18. He was 88. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He attended Willard Elementary School and graduated from Ridgewood High School in 1943. He worked for Yegan Associates during the ‘50s and into the early ‘60s. He purchased and operated Countryside Volkswagen and Lincoln Mercury in Torrington, Connecticut. In 1972, he became the owner of WES Cadillac Oldsmobile in Waterbury, Connecticut. He owned and operated this business until he retired in 2002. He was named president of the Tri-State Cadillac Advertising Group, and held this position for a number of years. He is survived by his children William Strakosch of Middlebury, Connecticut, Nancy Strakosch-Gross from Grandview-on-Hudson, New York, and Amy Strakosch-Moniz from Sandwich, Massachusetts, and eight grandchildren. She was a homemaker and a doctor’s wife. She had been a member of the First Reformed Church of Ridgewood, and the West Side Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her children Robert Vermeulen, David Vermeulen, Joanne Dressing, and Maryann Balsly, seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Abram Vermeulen, MD. Arrangements were made by Vander Plaat Memorial Home in Paramus.
