As an NAEYC accredited school, RCNS serves children from age two-and-a-half through five. The school offers age-appropriate curriculum, small class sizes, experienced staff, and a concrete play-oriented developmental approach to early childhood education. The curriculum focuses on readiness skills for learning, language development, and socialization and includes gym and music sessions and field trips. Valley Hospital Auxiliary announces new meeting date The Waldwick Valley Hospital Auxiliary will meet on Wednesday Feb. 13 at the Faith Reformed Church on Crescent Street in Midland Park. Nancy Rosin will present a program to both the Waldwick and Midland Park auxiliaries on vintage valentines. Coffee, tea, and refreshments will be served. The clubs are requesting donations for the “Bakeless Bakesale” at this event. Golden Seniors plan trips Waldwick’s Golden Seniors will host a trip to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee and the Smoky Mountains April 28 through May 4. This trip will feature motor coach transportation, a guided tour of Smoky Mountain National Park, and entertainment. Shows will include the Smoky Mountain Opry, Cirque de Chine, the Smith Family, the Hatfield-McCoy Dinner Show, the Patty Waszak Show, and the Country Jamboree Variety Show. The group will also spend time in historic Gatlinburg. The cost for this trip is $545 per person for double occupancy. On March 2, the group will travel to the Hunterdon Hills Playhouse for Branson 2013: Honky-Tonks & Heartaches. This Branson-style country music show stars the Tim Gillis Band and comedian “Crazy Elmer.” The cost is $52 for members and $55 for non members. United Methodist Church to host Valentine’s Day music The Waldwick United Methodist Church located at 25 Franklin Turnpike will hold its Annual Saint Valentine’s Day Musical Program on Saturday, Feb. 16. The program will feature singers, dancers, and special music. A free will offering will be taken. Grad Ball tickets on sale The Waldwick High School Graduation Ball Committee will host its Annual Fashion Show on Wednesday, March 13. The event will be held at Seasons, 644 Pascack Road in Washington Township from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. The event supports the WHS Grad Ball, which is a safe, drug- and alcohol-free environment following the seniors’ graduation ceremony. Tickets are $50 each and include a fashion show, a prize basket fundraiser, appetizers, a sit-down dinner and dessert, and $10 worth of prize basket tickets. A cash bar Jim Antoine proudly displays his collection of free flight, rubber powered, model airplanes at the Waldwick Public Library. Antoine, a member of the library staff, began building the balsa wood planes over five decades ago and continues to fly them locally and in designated air fields. The planes can fly for an unlimited amount of time and for distances of up to two miles. All are invited to come and view the display which will be up throughout the month of February.
