She was a 1963 graduate of Clifton High School and received her BA degree with honors from William Paterson University in 1967. After graduation she went on to teach fifth grade at Ryerson School in Wayne. She was a member of the Allendale Friends of the Library for over 20 years, where she served in various roles including as president. She was a parishioner of Guardian Angel Church and taught CCD. She is survived by her sons Kevin of Westwood and Christopher of Boston, Massachusetts, two grandchildren, and her brother Robert Finn of Pompton Plains. She was predeceased by her husband Edward. Isabelle W. Manwiller of Paramus, formerly of Allendale and Midland Park, died April 4. She was 103. She was Patricia K. Ducey Isabelle W. Manwiller a graduate of Overbrook High School in Pennsylvania and the Pennsylvania Normal School, a teacher training institution. She served as a substitute elementary school teacher and was then appointed to a full time position in the Philadelphia Public Schools in the early 1930s. She taught for 30 years, mostly sixth grade. She was a member of Bethany Temple Presbyterian Church in West Philadelphia, where she sang in the church choir and taught Sunday school. She had been a member of the Christ United Presbyterian Church in Drexel Hill. She had volunteered at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, giving more than 4,485 hours of her time over 24 years. She was a member of the Friends of the Midland Park Library, the Midland Park Christian Reformed Church, and the United Methodist XYZ group. She is survived by her daughters Grace M. Hay of Mahwah and Isabelle M. Davis of Madison, Connecticut, three grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Russell S. She is survived by her husband John, her children Lynn Scerbo of Glen Rock, Elise Pensec of Chicago, Illinois, Mark Pensec of Glen Rock, Jeanne O’Reilly of Warwick, New York, and John Francis Pensec of Atlanta, Georgia. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and her brother Roger Le Goff of Williamsville, New York. She was predeceased by her grandson Matthew Pensec. Martha Pepper of Wyckoff, formerly of Franklin Lakes, died April 5. She was 100. She was born in Poland. She was the owner and real estate broker of Martha Pepper Real Estate in Franklin Lakes. She was a former member of the Franklin Lakes Methodist Church. She was survived by her son Robert and his wife Jackie of Franklin Lakes, and daughter-in-law Lorelle of Pompton Lakes. She is also survived by five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Robert, her son Richard, and her siblings Elsie and Edmund. Edward Pruim of Hawthorne died April 9. He was 77. He was born in Wausau, Wisconsin, and came to Wyckoff with his family in 1938. He attended Midland Park Christian School and Ramsey High School. He was a partner in the Hawthorne Laundry, Inc. for 40 years before his retirement in 1998. After retiring, he worked as a crossing guard in Wyckoff. He was a member of the Midland Park Christian Reformed Church. He is survived by his wife Mae Arlene (nee Baker), his children Edward J. Pruim, Susan Gjeltema, Douglas G. Pruim, and Wendy S. Nystrom. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and his sisters Dorothy Carlson and Eleanor Unterstein. Arrangements were made by Vander Plaat Funeral Home in Wyckoff. She was a secretary for the first crew of the USS Nautilus, the first nuclear submarine. She was a past president of the Saint Luke’s Church Rosary Society in Ho-Ho-Kus. She had worked in banking for over 25 years. She is survived by her husband John, her children John J. Salerno, Linda J. Hickman, Wendy J. Ross, and Kerry L. Salerno, and four grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, three sons, and four grandchildren.
