event with 180 people in attendance and many winners, including the first place prize winner, who won more than $9,000. The evening started with drinks and appetizers in the cocktail area, where

guests had a chance to view the prize baskets and socialize. An elegant buffet dinner, auctions, and dancing followed. AFEE was thrilled with the turnout and thanks the faculty, parents, and friends of the Allendale schools who attended the auction and the sponsors who supported AFEE with their generous contributions. The money raised will be used by AFEE to award educational grants, fund cultural programs, and provide technology for the students at Hillside and Brookside schools, independent of the school budget.
AFEE has funded items such as the Hillside Ecology Center, iPad Learning Labs, over 90 laptops and computers, 31 SMART Boards, the Brookside Television Studio, 21st century science equipment, author visits, 37 assemblies, and many other enrichment programs. AFEE’s Spring Grant Cycle is currently under way and AFEE welcomes grant proposals from parents within the community.
