The Saddle River Valley Junior Woman’s Club will host its Second Annual Princess Ball, “The Enchanted Garden,” on Sept. 28. The event will be held at White Beeches Golf & Country Club in Haworth from 5 to 9 p.m. The event is appropriate for girls in pre-K through grade eight. The event will include a buffet dinner, wine, draft beer, entertainment, games, and more. Last year’s magical event sold out quickly. Many said tickets for the ball were “the hottest in town.” Tickets for the 2013 event are $165 per couple and $25 for each additional daughter. At this time, the club is offering sponsorship opportunities for area businesses and individuals. The SRVJWC is also seeking donations of prize items for the ball. For details, contact Leslie Lahoud at (201) 953-9399. Proceeds from this year’s event will benefit the Children’s Therapy Center. CTC is a 501c(3) non-profit organization that provides educational and therapeutic services for children with developmental disabilities. The center was incorporated in 1950 and today has two locations: one in Fair Lawn and one in Midland Park. A multi-sensory approach is utilized in a nurturing and caring environment to enrich the lives of the students and maximize their potential while lending support to their families.

(continued from page 3) Mastriano is now completing her second term on the borough’s governing body. As a councilwoman, she has served as liaison to the Saddle River Parks and Recreation Department and has been part of the application process for Bergen County Open Space Grant program. Through this program, the borough has made many improvements to its parks, including drainage, baseball field upgrades, boardwalk reconstruction, and the addition of the new band shell. Mastriano has also chaired and organized many community events, including Saddle River Night, Winter Festival, and the Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony. The councilwoman has also chaired the borough’s Green Team. Mastriano has been active with the planning board in establishing the green element of the borough’s master plan. The councilwoman has also served as liaison to the Saddle River Board of Education. She is the mother of five children, and has been an active member of the Wandell Home and School Association, a volunteer religious education teacher at Saint Gabriel’s, a trustee of the Saddle River Republican Club, and a member of the Valley Club.
