She received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Goucher College and a master’s degree in special education from Teachers College, Columbia University. In her early years, she taught developmentally disabled children in Paterson. In later years, she worked as a travel agent. She is survived by her sons Ari Bernstein of Allendale and Jorey Bernstein of Los Angeles, and four grandchildren. She is also survived by nieces Hana Schiavo of Hawthorne and Kim Dunne of Cherry Hill, and nephew David Palmisano of Paterson. She was predeceased by her parents Hana and Abe J. Greene and her sister Marna Greene Palmisano. She was formerly married to Edward Bernstein of Montvale. Dolorez “Dee” Macy, nee Godbout, of Shelburne, Vermont, formerly of Wyckoff, Franklin Lakes, Nantucket, Massachusetts, and Stowe, Vermont, died March 3. She was 78. She held a nursing degree. She studied art and her still-life oil paintings have been showcased in many art galleries, Ridgewood Art Barn, Artists Association of Nantucket, and many venues in the Northeast. Noyes of Saddle River died March 24. He was 87. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was in the U.S. Naval Reserve from 1946 to 1954. He earned his degree in chemical engineering in just three years, graduating from Northwestern University in 1944. He owned a publishing company, the Noyes Data Corporation, from 1962 until 1997. The company was located on Mill Pond in Park Ridge, and specialized in publishing technical books for the chemical industry. He traveled the world, wrote books, collected fine art and antiques, opened an art gallery in Manhattan, taught himself French and Greek, became a naval historian, piloted gliders, and was an accomplished sailor. He was a former member of the Indian Harbor Yacht Club in Greenwich, Connecticut, the Chatham Yacht Club in Massachusetts, and the New York Yacht Club. He was a prolific philanthropist, supporting numerous causes related primarily to the environment, education, and children. He is survived by his wife Mariel (Jones), his children Keith Noyes of Blauvelt, New York, Steven Noyes of Sterling, Massachusetts, Mark Noyes of Dunedin, Florida, Geoffrey Noyes of Munich, Germany, Rebecca Tower of San Francisco, California, Robert Noyes of Boulder, Colorado, Carolyn Cryan of Tarrytown, New York, and Tara Cryan Dougherty of Bronxville, New York. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and his brother Edward Noyes of Leesburg, Florida. He was predeceased by his siblings Marilyn Voll and Keith Noyes. She was born in Hawthorne on May 8, 1921 to Herbert and Ester Pillsbury. She married Leonard Pierce on Oct. 10, 1941. She was known as a talented painter and gardener. She is survived by her children David Pierce, Susan Fitzgibbon, and Linda Sacripanti. Jennie “Jean” Riccardi, nee Agugliaro, of Waldwick died March 16. She was a 67-year member of the Waldwick Fire Department Auxiliary, where she was past president. She was a member of the Bergen County Ladies Auxiliary, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Firemen of the State of New Jersey, and the Chrysanthemum Society. She is a past member of Saint Luke Altar Society and the Small Town & Fancy Players of Mahwah. She is survived by her children Jean Paras and son-in-law Mike, John Riccardi, and Andrew Riccardi and Brian Mackey, two grandchildren, and her sisters Christine Openden and Leonore Deal. She was predeceased by her husband John Riccardi, and her siblings Andrew Agugliaro, Rose Solimando, and Frances Bullock. Arrangements were made by Becker Funeral Home in Westwood. John A. Schilstra of Hawthorne, formerly of Mahwah and Wyckoff, died March 23. He was 63. He graduated from Ramapo High School, and was employed by several Ford dealerships in the Bergen County area over the past 40 years before retiring one year ago. He was a member of the Grace Bible Church in Pompton Plains, where he served in various ministries. He is survived by his wife Susan (nee Terhune), his children Leah Brown and John Schilstra, his brother David Schilstra, sister-in-law Lois, and niece Stefanie. Spiech of Mahwah died March 23. He was 61. He attended Immaculate Heart of Mary School and Mahwah High School, graduating in 1969. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University and worked for the Township of Mahwah Public Works Department for more than 34 years. He was the New Jersey State licensed operator for Mahwah’s public water supply and the director of public works from 1999 until his retirement in 2009. He was a member of Company #2 Fire Department in Mahwah and a parishioner of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. He is survived by his wife Lisa (nee Frankoski), his mother Stephanie of Mahwah, and his siblings Joseph of Mahwah and Stephanie Gingeleskie of Gladstone. He was predeceased by his father Joseph. Ronne Greene Frances Pierce Jennie ‘Jean’ Riccardi Dolorez ‘Dee’ Macy Ronald Stephenson Sr. of Wyckoff died March 20. He was 62. He was an electrical engineer with Western Union in Ramsey for many years. After retiring, he owned Cacique Restaurant in New York City for many years. He graduated Pratt University, and attended Columbia University, and N.J.I.T. He was a member of the Crispus Attucks Scholarship Foundation and the Order of the Lamp. He was a member of the Kingston College Old Boys Association. He is survived by his wife Valerie “Patsy” (nee DaCosta), his children LeRoi Stephenson, M.D., and Ronald Stephenson Jr., his parents Edgar Stephenson Sr. and Cynthia (nee Ramsay), and three grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings Julia Stephenson, Charmaine McLeod, Edgar Stephenson Jr., and Colin Stephenson. He was predeceased by his sibling Tony Greene. He was 53. He attended Cardinal Spellman High School, from which he graduated in 1977. He graduated from Fordham University in 1981, where he played varsity football. His was employed in sales positions in the paper and forms industry, working for Standard Register. In recent years, he was the owner/general manager of Barrow Business Products in Ramsey. He coached football for Ramsey Recreation and at Don Bosco High School. He was a member of the Ramsey Golf and Country Club. He is survived by his wife Mary (nee Thompsen), his children Meg and Jack, and his siblings John, Joan Walsh, and Mary Fawcett. He attended the Peddie School for two years, returning to Ridgewood High School to graduate in the Class of 1947, where he played varsity football and baseball. He attended Princeton University for two years. After serving in the Navy, he joined the firm of SS Walstrum - Gordon & Forman as a real estate broker until 1975 and was a member of the Northwest Bergen Board of Realtors. He then joined The Valley Hospital transport staff, where he worked until 1994. He was a member of the Ridgewood Kiwanis Club, serving as president from 1964-65. He is survived by his children Samuel William Walstrum II, Mary Jane Kearns, and James Halsey Walstrum, six grandchildren, and his sister Sallie Herman Bailey of Mesa, Arizona.
