Helene Francoise Crawford, nee Bure, of Ridgewood, formerly of Whiting, died April 26. She was 88. She was born in Brittany, France and moved with her family to New York City at the age of five. Her father Charles opened a French pastry shop in Greenwich Village, and after many years, moved the shop, Patisserie Parisienne, to Ridgewood. She was involved in the Free French group during WWII in New York City, participated in the Air Raid Safety Patrol, and had been a photographic retoucher. She is survived by her children Kathleen, Ronald, and Michele, and four grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband William Crawford. Arrangements were made by Feeney Funeral Home in Ridgewood. Grace W. DeGraaf of Ho-Ho-Kus died April 29. She was 98. She was born on Ackerman Avenue in Glen Rock to Louise Ackerman and Frank Waldon, former mayor of Glen Rock. She is descended from Jacob Ackerman, who settled in Bergen County in the 1600s. She graduated from Ridgewood High School in 1932, finished teacher training at Glassboro Normal School, and completed a bachelor’s degree at William Paterson University. She earned a master’s degree from New York University and a professional diploma from Teachers College, Columbia University. Before retiring in 1975, she was an elementary teacher for 22 years and subsequently the reading consultant for the Glen Rock schools for 17 years. She married Philip DeGraaf in 1975. She was a volunteer in many local civic and professional organizations and she was a member of the Glen Rock Community Church. She is survived by her nieces Sandra Johanson of Convent Station and Judith Martin of Asheville, North Carolina, a grand-nephew and grandniece, and her stepsons David DeGraaf of Hendersonville, North Carolina and Robert DeGraaf of Acqualoreto, Italy. She is also survived by four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren from the DeGraaf family. Arrangements were made by C.C. Van Emburgh Funeral Home in Ridgewood. Stephen John Dormer of Suffern, New York, formerly of Upper Saddle River, died April 26. He was 25. He attended primary school in Upper Saddle River and graduated from Northern Highlands High School in 2006. He majored in finance at Ramapo College. He had participated in recreational sports, baseball, basketball, and soccer, and was a member of Boy Scout Troop 133. He played football at Northern Highlands and was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Allendale. He was 87. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a graduate of Saint Francis College in Brooklyn. He worked for over 30 years for International Paper Company in New York City. He is survived by his children John E. Hennessy Jr., Daniel Hennessy, and Anne Bridgette Hennessy, one grandchild, and his sister Katherine Delisio. Perusini Jr. of Bonita Springs, Florida, formerly of Upper Saddle River, died April 26. He was 83. He was a mason and plasterer and a member of the Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Union. He was an honorary member of the Knights of Columbus and the Improved Order of Red Men Council in Northvale. He is survived by his son Kevin Perusini and daughter-in-law Janet of Oakland, his daughter Karen LaBozetta of Fair Lawn, and his granddaughter Amanda LaBozetta of Fair Lawn. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Grace Perusini of Old Tappan, brother and sister-in-law Andy and Betty Krivda of Bergenfield, and many nieces and nephews. Russell of Wyckoff, formerly of Midland Park, died April 28. He was 77. Before retiring in 1992, he was a clerk for the U.S. Postal Service in Ridgewood for 35 years. He was a member of the Faith Reformed Church in Midland Park. He is survived by his wife Nancy K., his children Sharon L. Weite and Vincent E., four grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter. Stier Jr. of Los Angeles, California died April 29. He had graduated from Ridgewood High School, Kenyon College, and Harvard Business School. He was an investment analyst in New York and financial planner in New Jersey. In Ridgewood, he was a Community Chest fundraiser and a West Side Presbyterian Church Sunday school teacher and deacon. He was the Democratic municipal chairman and served as president of the local club. He sat on the committee of New Jersey Common Cause and was active in the campaign for U.N. Reform. He is survived by his sons David Stier of Rochester, New York and Byron Stier of Los Angeles, California, and grandchildren Emma, Drew, and Dylan. Arrangements were made by C.C. He was a graduate of Princeton University, and worked for Chrysler in Detroit, Michigan as an automotive engineer. He was a parishioner of the Church of the Presentation in Upper Saddle River, where he served as a lector for many years. He is survived by his wife Maggie, his children Andrew of Garnerville, New York, Scot of Chester, New York, Aimee Cook of Massachusetts, and Jeffrey of Wayne. Colonel Trenton Wright, U.S. Army Retired, of Upper Saddle River died April 27. He was 84. He joined the U.S. Army after high school and entered Officer Candidate School and became the youngest second lieutenant in the army at the time. He served two tours of duty in the Korean conflict and served in Okinawa, Japan. He spent considerable time thereafter in the Army Reserve retiring at the rank of full colonel. He is a member of the United States Army Officer Candidate School Hall of Fame. He received the Meritorious Service Medal on April 19, 1977. He completed his accounting degree at New York University and then entered a 40-year career in public service with the Internal Revenue Service, retiring after serving in the major corporate audit division. He is a former member of the Upper Saddle River Volunteer Ambulance Corps. He is survived by his wife Edna (Holt) Wright of Marked Tree, Arkansas, his children Trenton Wright Jr. of Connecticut and Christine Wright of Ramsey, two grandchildren, and his sister Dorothy Shannon.
