Touch-A-Truck event to launch sale days
and public works vehicles for youngsters to explore up close. Ridgewood emergency and public works vehicles will be ready for action along the Oak Street side of the park from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the local heroes who serve the village will be on hand to share their favorite tales about the exciting work they perform every day. A Safety Town Kiddie Car Driving Track, and a special Truck Storytime hosted by the Ridgewood Public Library are among the planned activities throughout the park area for children of all ages. Touch-a-Truck is a free event coordinated by Ridgewood’s Little Ivy Learning Center and co-sponsored by the Ridgewood Chamber of Commerce and the Village of Ridgewood as part of their ongoing commitment to serve our community’s children and families. “Touch-a-Truck” will be rolling into downtown Ridgewood’s Memorial Park at Van Neste Square on Thursday, May 16. (Rain date: May 17.) This day of hands-on adventure, allows children the opportunity to climb on board the vehicles.

R&S Landscaping will hold a May 16 container gardening workshop that will focus on using tropical plants. This 90-minute workshop will be held at 10 a.m. on the green space behind The Stable at 259 North Maple Avenue in Ridgewood. Julie Watson will discuss tips on how to select plant material, design container plantings, and care for these tropical plants. With Watson’s help and

guidance, participants will pot their own containers and take home a personalized, eye-catching creation. Parents are encouraged to bring their children.
