Church in Glen Rock, where she was a member of the Rosary Altar Society and the Senior AMPS. She was homemaker and a member of the Glen Rock Seniors. She is survived by her children Donald Averna of Woodcliff Lake and Rita Ward Henkler of Glen Rock, five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Santa Averna. Ficca of Franklin Lakes, formerly of Glen Rock, died March 16. He was 81. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He was a graduate of Fordham University. He received his LLB from Georgetown University and his LLM from George Washington University. Before retiring in 1987, he was a lawyer for Kidde, Inc. in Saddle Brook, where he was vice chairman and served as chief counsel. He was a parishioner of Most Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church in Franklin Lakes. He is survived by his wife Margaret M. Ficca (nee Kennedy) of Franklin Lakes, his children David K. Ficca of Maryland, Thomas K. Ficca of Upper Saddle River, William F. Ficca of Indiana, Raymond G. Ficca of Virginia, and Marykate Menapace of Hawthorne. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and his brother Francis R. Ficca of Pennsylvania. She completed her associate degree in paralegal studies at Bergen Community College in 2003. For many years, she worked as a paralegal with Socrates Lambrinides in Hackensack. She is survived by her husband Timothy Flanagan, her siblings Maryann DeHaan, Anita Beldjilali, Dr. Elizabeth Daquila, Lisa Jane Weydig, and Wes Peter Weydig, and her nephews and nieces. George E. “Bud” Gallant of Whiting, formerly of Ridgewood, Ramsey, and Wyckoff, died March 17. He was 89. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He had been employed in the food services department of Bergen Regional Medical Center in Paramus for many years, and previously was a machinist for 20 years. He is survived by his wife Noel (Warner) Orr, his children Steven Orr, Deborah Orr, Lisa Bates, and David Orr, and six grandchildren. He was predeceased by his grandson Timothy Bates. Shirley M. Reade of Glen Rock died March 19. She was 84. She was a parishioner of Saint Catharine R.C. Church in Glen Rock. Geoffrey Curran Rosamond of Jersey City, formerly of Bayonne, Paramus, and Franklin Lakes, died March 18. He was 71. He graduated from Holy Trinity High School in Hackensack and Kings College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsyl- Mary M. O’Connor David R. Ficca vania. He received a law degree from Catholic University in Washington, D.C. in 1967. He continued to take courses at in international law while working in the early Nixon administration on the legal staff for Secretary of Housing and Urban Development George Romney. He was an assistant Bergen County Prosecutor. He opened his own practice in Hackensack, and moved it to Franklin Lakes in 1979. He served seven terms on the Franklin Lakes Council, and was named to the New Jersey Elected Officials Hall of Fame in 2001. During that time, he served on the recreation commission and was responsible for the youth sports ordinance entitled “Kids First, Winning Second.” In 2002, he became a workers’ compensation judge, and retired in 2011. He was an adjunct professor at Ramapo College, Fairleigh Dickinson University, and Saint Peter’s College. He was a volunteer art tour guide at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. He coached baseball and other sports for his children. He is survived by his children Geoffrey N. Rosamond of Morris Plains, Laurice C. Carbonell of Brooklyn, New York, Christopher N. Rosamond of Oakland, and Brian N. Rosamond of Saddle Brook. He is also survived by six grandchildren, and his sister Karen Runz of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. She was a member of the Warwick Valley Quilters Guild, the Brownstone Quilters Guild, and the Clifton Quilters Guild. She survived by her husband Robert E. of Midland Park, her children David Van Gurp of Hewitt, Charlene Van Gurp of Hawthorne, and Lynn A. Ver Hage of Midland Park, five grandchildren, and one great-grandson. She is also survived by her sister Sandy Agathokleous of Roebling. Weil of Franklin Lakes, formerly of North Haledon and Vermont, died March 17. He was 83. In the early 1960s, he and his brother Melvin built the Singapore Motel in Wildwood Crest. He was the owner of General Office Environments in Saddle Brook. He was a former police commissioner and councilman in North Haledon and was a former North Haledon Board of Education trustee. He is survived by his wife of Antonia (nee Toni Cadete), his children Garth Weil of Franklin Lakes, Stacey Barbarito of North Haledon, Bradley J.
