Page 8 THE VILLADOM TIMES II • March 20, 2013 Ridgewood ‘West Siders’ help rebuild at the Jersey Shore West Side Presbyterian Church recently sent members and friends to Jackson to help with Hurricane Sandy relief. Teams from West Side have made a total of three trips to this hurricane damaged area and plan to continue their efforts once a month. The first two Saturdays were spent clearing out houses damaged by flood waters in Lavallette. The Jackson team helped refurbish a home for a family who had been flooded out since late October. Additional volunteers are welcome. It is not necessary to be a highly skilled tradesperson to participate in this effort. Some of the skills that are helpful include a desire to help others, a willingness to learn, and a passion for others are in need. Anyone interested in joining a West Side team may contact Reverend Marc Oehler at marc@westside.org or (201) 652-1966, extension 18. The West Side teams work in conjunction with the Presbyterian Church of Toms River and say: “We are Team Jersey!” West Side members Jack Gardner, Dan Eberle, and Ben Dougherty installed a new floor for a Jackson family.
