Planners schedule Valley renovation hearings
by John Koster The Ridgewood Planning Board has scheduled the first three months of hearings on the revised renovation plans for Valley Hospital. All meetings will be held at 7:30 p.m., but some locations have yet to be determined. The Ridgewood Planning Board has also listed the names of the professionals who will testify on behalf of Valley Hospital, which is now facing the second round of public hearings for an expansion plan to upgrade medical facilities and to make each patient room into a single-bed room, a layout that is now seen as standard in upscale hospitals. The planning board will hear from Steve Evers, an architectural expert with a specialty in hospital planning; Joe Burgis, a planning expert; Moustafa Gouda, a geotechnical engineering expert; Chuck Olivo,
a traffic engineering expert; Dennis Schettino, a construction management expert; and Shannon Magari, an environmental expert. The first meetings are set for April 2 at the Benjamin Franklin Middle School auditorium, April 16 and 29 at locations to be (continued on page 11)
