Weight training and toning class set The Village of Ridgewood Health Department will offer a six-session weight training and toning program on Mondays in the Patrick Mancuso Senior Lounge at 131 North Maple Avenue in Ridgewood. The 45 minute class will meet at 1:10 p.m. on April 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29 and May 6. The fee is $36. Ridgewood residency not required. Support group seeks members As part of its comprehensive continuum of care for patients who have suffered a stroke, The Valley Hospital Stroke Center offers a Stroke Support Group that provides a positive forum for stroke survivors and their caregivers dealing with life issues after a stroke. The group is coordinated by a licensed social worker. The program often includes guest speakers, some of whom include neurologists, registered dietitians, physical and occupational therapists, and other Valley health care providers and physicians. The group meets on the fourth Tuesday of the month in The Valley Hospital Board Room at 223 North Van Dien Avenue in Ridgewood. New members are always welcome. The meetings are free, but registration is requested. To register, call (201) 447-8000, extension 2263. ‘Please Walk in My Shoes’ benefit set The Woman’s Club of Ridgewood and the Ridgewood Chamber of Commerce will host a “Please Walk in My Shoes” benefit on March 22 and 23. This two-day fundraiser will benefit local women’s charities. During the month of March, the club has been accepting donations of gentlyused shoes for this special Ladies Night Out. On Friday, March 22, a Shoecase Party will be held from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Woman’s Club of Ridgewood, 215 West Ridgewood Avenue in Ridgewood. The entrance fee is $25 per person, and guests will enjoy wine, cheese, and sweet treats, and will have first dibs on the shoes. All shoes are for women and

The Bag of Heels event set for Saturday, March 23 will allow guests, with no entrance fee, to purchase shoes for $20 per pair from 10 a.m. to 3p.m. Cash and checks will be accepted. OPRC plans Easter Egg Hunt Visit Ridgewood’s Old Paramus Reformed Church on Saturday, March 23 for an Easter Egg Hunt that will be held at 10 a.m. outdoors on the OPRC campus. The children in the church’s Sunday school will be joined by children from Little Ivy Pre-school and others from the wider community. All children (up to age 12) are cordially welcome to join the fun. Refreshments will be served, and prize eggs will be awarded. In case of inclement weather, the event will be held indoors. Felz to provide appraisals Antiques appraiser Jon Felz will be at Old Paramus Reformed Church on March 23 to offer appraisals to the public for a nominal fee. Felz, a certified appraiser who has been featured on “Antiques Roadshow,” is a member of the New England Appraisers Association. He has 30 years of experience with estate sales and auctions. Each person who attends is limited to two items for appraisal. The fee is $5 per item. Seating is limited and will be provided on a first come, first served basis. The doors will open at 12:30 for this event, which will be held between 1 and 4 p.m. Refreshments and baked items will be available for sale during the appraisal session. This event will take place in
the Education Building at the church, 660 East Glen Avenue in Ridgewood at Route 17 South. Learn about Ukrainian Easter Eggs The Women’s Guild of the Old Paramus Reformed Church will present “Ukrainian Easter Eggs Tell the Story” on April 3 at 1 p.m. This presentation will include a demonstration and an exhibit of these vivid masterpieces. Maria Klym and Joan Aliotta will lead the program. Devotions will be offered by Susan Robertson. The entire community is welcome to attend. Infant & toddler program accepting registrations The Infant/Toddler Development Center located in the Glen School at 865 East Glen Avenue in Ridgewood is accepting registrations for the 2013-14 school year. The ITDC was founded in 1983, and is a program of the Ridgewood Board of Education. The program meets the needs of children ages six weeks through kindergarten enrichment, with low child to staff ratios. The center is a fully-licensed day care/preschool facility and is staffed by certified teachers and a full-time nurse. Afternoon kindergarten enrichment is available, with busing for children who attend morning kindergarten in the Ridgewood Public Schools. Full-time and part-time hours are available. Correction The Ridgewood Police Department Report that appeared in Villadom TIMES on March 13 should have stated: “On March 3, 2013 a Lakeview Drive resident reported that while she was at an event at the Knights of Columbus, her purse was stolen.
