II • March 13, 2013 Aleck Harris of Mahwah, formerly of Paramus, died March 4. He was 90. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a recipient of the Colonel Charles H. “Chick” Noble Award for distinguished service, loyalty, and dedication to the Sixteenth Armored Division Association. He was the owner operator of Harris Uniforms in Hackensack and a member of the Masons. He was a tenor in the choir at Saint Anthony’s Orthodox Church in Bergenfield. He is survived by his daughters Cathy Banu of Mahwah and Donna Carbah of San Antonio, Texas, eight grandchildren, and his siblings Mary Rozdilsky, Julia Mikulak, Olga Barna, and Vladimir Harris. He was predeceased by his wife Mary. Arrangements were made by Vander Plaat Funeral Home in Wyckoff. Jane Arax Erganian Kandoian of Ridgewood died March 3. She was 96. She graduated from Washington University School of Medicine in 1941 and pursued a specialty in pediatrics. For many years, she was a senior public health physician for the New Jersey State Department of Health. She is survived by her daughters Janet, Ellen, and Nancy, son-in-law Richard J. Sweeney, and grandson Nicholas Armig Sweeney. She was predeceased by her husband Armig G. Kandoian, and her brother Alex. Arrangements were made by the William G. Basralian Funeral Home in Oradell. Manning Jr. of Mahwah died March 5. He was 92. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a graduate Saint John’s University, and had a 41-year career with ITT. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and past president of the Friends of the Mahwah Library. He was a member of the Church of the Presentation Choir in Upper Saddle River. He is survived by his wife Dorothy (nee O’Reilly), his children Ray of Phoenix, Arizona, Paul of Slate Hill, New York, and Donna of Chester, New York, seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings George, Helen, and Evelyn. He was predeceased by his brothers Jimmy and Teddy. Arrangements were made by Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home in Ramsey. Nancy Hamilton of Midland Park died March 4. She was 79. She was an avid bowler and golfer and was a member of Ridgewood Country Club. She enjoyed time with her family especially the summers spent at her home in Ocean Grove. She was a member of the Abundant Life Church (formerly Second Reformed Church) in Wyckoff. She volunteered with many organizations including The Depot in Midland Park and the Midland Park Republican Club. She is survived by her daughter Karen and husband Mike Rau of Midland Park; her sons John Hamilton and wife Jacqueline of Royersford, Pennsylvania and David Hamilton and wife Michelle of Howell; and grandchildren Steven, Jennifer, Matthew, Nicole, Brittany, Marissa, Rachel, and Rebecca. She is also survived by her sister Jeane De Young of North Carolina. She was predeceased by her husband Robert in 1996. Arrangements were made by Vander Plaat Funeral Home in Wyckoff. She is survived by her children Bobby Peters and Joan Reilly, two grandchildren, six greatgrandchildren, and her sister Agnes Utterback.
