Glen Rock
The members of Glen Rock Girl Scout Troop 132 recently provided emergency kits for the clients of Community Meals, Inc. These shoebox size containers were filled with safety items that will be useful in the event of a storm. Last December, the Girl Scouts began collecting safety and replacement items to benefit victims of Hurricane Sandy and Community Meals clients. Recently, the Junior Scouts delivered 60 emergency kits to CMI’s Ridgewood office. The kits contain a laminated list of local emergency phone numbers, and items such as a key

When the Scouts made the delivery, they received a tour of the CMI kitchen where meals are packed, and learned about the organization’s history and mission from CMI Associate Director Jackie Lauer and Cindy Galvin, chairperson of the newlyformed Civic Committee. For more information about Community Meals, call (201) 447-8295 or visit www. communitymealsonwheels.org to obtain client, volunteer, and donor information.
