The board approved three-week stipends for four biology teachers from June 7 through 30. Stacy Casatella will receive a stipend of $1,088, Lynn Feeny will receive a stipend of $1,070, Sandra Kunzle will receive a stipend of $1,553, and Mark Syvret at a stipend of $1,417. The Glen School RED teachers for special education were hired for 85 hours of the summer. Amy Carrera will receive $3,677, Kelly Letavish will receive $3,548, Eileen McCann will receive $4,952, and Odalys Romano will receive $4,159. Jamiee Grudzien will receive $4,448 for 100 hours as a teacher with the RISe Program. At Orchard School, Beth Jerejian will receive $4,955 and Jennifer Williams will receive $3,551 for 100 each with the RISe Program. At the George Washington Middle School, Katherine Keppel will receive $3,291 for 100 hours with the RISe Program. The following educators will devote 85 hours each to the Orchard School special needs program: Jamie Pepper will receive $3,018 for kindergarten; Jennifer Rosenzweig will receive $2,739 for second grade; Lauren Menzies will receive $3,338 for third grade; and Leah Dodd will receive $4,952 for fourth and fifth grade. The board also approved eight teachers’ aides for the Glen School RED Program, six teachers’ aides for the Glen School RISe Program, four teachers’ aides for the Orchard School RISe Program, one for the George Washington Middle School RISe, Program, and 17 teachers’ aides for the Orchard School special needs program. All aides are paid $16.16 based on time card times. Peter Monohan was approved as a Hawes School Space Camp Aide for special needs students, also at $16.16 an hour. For the coming school year, Rosemary Miller has been hired as an English teacher at Benjamin Franklin Middle School with an MA plus 30 credits at step 18 at a salary of $106,223. Christine Anderson had been changed in assignment from a part-time mathematics teacher at Ridgewood High School to a full-time teacher with a salary increase from $53,538 to $66,923. She is at step 3-4 but has an MA plus 30 credits. Mark Leonard has been changed from a half-time collaborative special education teacher to a fulltime collaborative special education teacher at the Benjamin Franklin Middle School with a salary increase from $28,212 to $56,423 with a BA at steps 3-4.
