Page 2 THE VILLADOM TIMES I, II, III & IV • June 19, 2013 Villadom Happenings College to host summer concerts Area residents are invited to the 2013 TD Bank Summer Concert Series, which will be hosted by the Ramapo College Foundation on the campus in Mahwah. The best of rock and pop tribute bands will headline on four Thursday evenings. The season will begin July 11 with Slippery When Wet, a Bon Jovi tribute band. The band members’ appearance and musical talents will make the audience think they are at a Bon Jovi concert. Fireworks will follow. The rain date for the fireworks will be July 18. On July 18, Shirley Alston Reeves, the original lead singer of the Shirelles, will perform. Reeves will be accompanied by two back-up singers and a four-piece band as she performs hits such as “Soldier Boy,” “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow?” and more. On July 25, Jimmy & the Parrots, a Jimmy Buffett tribute band, will take the audience back to that unforgettable island vacation. This will be “Margaritaville” at its best. The Chicago tribute band, Beginnings, will perform a concert with an electrifying horn section and rich vocals on Aug. 1. The concerts begin at 8 p.m. at the shell. The performances are free, but parking is $5 per vehicle. In the event of rain, concerts will be held in Bradley Center Arena. Hazardous waste collection announced The Bergen County Utilities Authority will hold a household hazardous waste collection on Sunday, June 23 at Bergen Community College located at 400 Paramus Road in Paramus. The collection will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Items to be collected include paints, automotive products, pesticides, aerosols, and flammable materials. Seniors plan trip, activities The Northwest Bergen Regional Senior Center in Midland Park will host a July 10 trip to Caesar’s Casino in Atlantic City. Area seniors age 60 and over are welcome. The trip will leave from the municipal parking lot on Highland Avenue in Midland Park at 8 a.m. and return at approximately 7 p.m. All participants must have a rewards card from the casino and a valid government issued photo identification to receive the casino bonus.
