Valley Hospital to host Healing Touch Class The Valley Hospital’s Center for the Advancement of Holistic Knowledge and Practice will host a two-day Healing Touch Level 1 class on Saturday, June 8 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, June 9, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sessions will meet in Valley Hospital Conference Room 7 at 223 North Van Dien Avenue in Ridgewood. Healing Touch is an integrative therapy that uses light touch to support the body’s natural ability to heal. The class, which is open to the public, will teach students 10 healing touch techniques that promote health and wellbeing by reducing stress, increasing relaxation, and restoring depleted energy. At the end of the course, every student will receive a certificate of completion. The Healing Touch class is endorsed by the American Holistic Nurses Association, and will be presented by Maggi Hutchinson, a certified Healing Touch practitioner and instructor through Healing Touch International. College Club celebrates milestone The College Club of Ridgewood will hold its Centennial Celebration Dinner Dance on Friday, June 7 from 7:30 to 11 p.m. at the Indian Trail Club, 830 Franklin Lake Road in Franklin Lakes. The evening will included ‘70s disco tunes provided by the Dancin’ Machine Band, dinner, and drinks. Tickets to the event are $100 per person. Since 1913, College Club has provided grants-in-aid to assist young women throughout northern New Jersey pursue a college education. Young women and men may apply for the Memorial Scholarship Loan (interest-free loans) post sophomore year. Graduate students may also apply. Throughout the century, College Club has awarded nearly $2 million in grants-in-aid to 3,492 applicants. Since the inception of the Memorial Scholarship Loans Program in 1947, College Club has provided nearly $1.5 million in loans to over 500 students.
