Dominick Nizza, 92, told friends last week that July 10 might be his last Ridgewood Village Council meeting. They all hoped he was joking with them. Nizza sometimes provides comic relief before sessions. He once arranged audience members into a chorus based on whether they were presumed to be tenors, baritones, or basses. He also makes dry observations which, despite an occasional flight of intentional fantasy, reflect common sense. Council regulars hope he keeps coming back to watch Ridgewood government in action and to lend a bit of pithy advice now and then.
