Thomas J. Campbell of Ridgewood, formerly of New York City, died Jan. 11. He was 77. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. He worked as a wire lather in New York City for over 40 years, and was a member of the Wood, Wire, and Metal Lathers Union Local #46. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel R.C. Church in Ridgewood. He is survived by his wife Margaret (nee Hennelly), his children Diane Miani, William Campbell, Donald Campbell, and Jeanne Campbell, eight grandchildren, and his sister Frances Sickinger. He was predeceased by his brothers William, Gilbert, and George Campbell. Arrangements were made by Feeney Funeral Home in Ridgewood. Memorial donations may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675. George Gimmi of Glen Rock, formerly of Kearny, died Jan. 11. He was 85. He was a U.S. Merchant Marine veteran of World War II. Before retiring in 1980, he was a truck driver for Acme Markets in Kearny for 25 years. He later started George’s Appliance Service in Kearny, and was the founder of Doreen’s Chocolates. He is survived by his wife Carmela (nee DiMaulo), his daughters Linda Bolten of Ridgewood and Doreen Miller of Glen Rock, eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Guatelli of Salem, North Carolina, formerly of Ramsey, died Jan. 13. He was an employee of Rachel’s News Company for over 30 years. He was a member of the Lutheran Redeemer Church in Ramsey and a member of the Hawthorne-Fortitude Lodge #200 F&AM. He is survived by his wife Millie, his stepchildren Karen Healy and Keith Murphy, two granddaughters, and his sister Ruby Vandevander of Ramsey. He was predeceased by his siblings John Guatelli Jr. and Olive Olson. Elizabeth M. “Betty” Kilcoyne, nee Cosgrove, of Allendale died Jan. 16. She was 78. Before retiring, she worked in accounts receivable for Financial Services Inc. in Glen Rock. She was a parishioner of Guardian Angel R.C. Church in Allendale, where she served as a volunteer for many of the parish’s ministries and brought Communion to the sick as an extraordinary minister of the Holy Eucharist. Kuzbyt, nee Wilcox, of Mahwah, formerly of Midland Park, died Jan. 10. She was 88. Before retiring in 2005, she was the owner of LK Ceramic Studio in Midland Park. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Glen Rock. She was a member of the Mahwah Seniors and a past president of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 170 in Rochelle Park. She is survived by her daughters Michele Dunn and Patti Lettich, her daughterin-law Deborah Kuzbyt, and seven grandchildren. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was born in Glasgow, Scotland, and immigrated to the United States in 1929. He graduated from Barringer High School in 1937 where he began his lifelong running career. He gradutated from Montclair State Teachers College in 1941 with a degree in social studies and minors in business and physical education. While at Montclair, he competed in indoor and outdoor track and organized the college’s first cross country team. He was inducted into the Montclair State Athletic Hall of Fame in 1975 and the Shore Athletic Club Hall of Fame in 2002. He taught history at Ocean City High School, and coached JV football, basketball, and varsity track. He ran competitively with the Newark and Shore athletic clubs. He worked for Capital Airlines in reservations and sales. While working in New York City, he completed a master’s in business administration in 1951 at the New York University Stern School of Business. In 1961, he served on the transition team for Capital’s merger with United Airlines. His airline career spanned 39 years and included sales and marketing positions with United Airlines in New York, Boston, Hartford, and Newark. He also set up United’s first European division. He was a member of the Foundation Board of Montclair State University, and served as president of the alumni association. He was a member of the North Jersey Masters Running Association, and an organizer of the Ridgewood Run. He continued to run competitively into his early 80s, winning many local and national events in his age group. He volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, and organized a project for retired United Airline employees in Newark. He was a member of SKAL International, and Hobbyists Unlimited. He sang in the Montclair Chorale, Burlington Presbyterian Church Choir in Burlington, Massachuesettes, and West Side Presbyterian Church Choir in

Ridgewood. At West Side Church, he served as a trustee and elder, led several capital campaigns, and participated in numerous other church groups. He is survived by his children, Susan, Laurie, and Margaret, six grandchildren, and his sister-in-law Elizabeth McGilvray. He was predeceased by his wife Joán Ruth Sears. She was a member of the Fair Lawn Art Association, a watercolor painter, and a subscriber to the New York City Ballet. She is survived by her children Paul A. Saporito of Boulder, Colorado, Mark S. Saporito of Seattle, Washington, and James F Saporito of Ridgewood, five grandchildren, and three great-granddaughters. She was predeceased by her husband Frederick. Arrangements were made by Feeney Funeral Home in Ridgewood. Carolyn E. Tynan of Pompton Plains, formerly of Midland Park, died Jan. 8. She was 86. She had worked as a legal secretary for the Hooper and Dunham Law Firm in New York City. She was a member of the West Side Presbyterian Church in Ridgewood since the 1930s. She was active in a number of clubs at Cedar Crest Village in Pompton Plains. She was a member of the Bergen Genealogy Society, the Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Brownstone Quilters. She is survived by her husband Howard Tynan, her son James Tynan, her sister-in-law Lynne Kanen, and her grandson Slade Tynan. A memorial service will be held at a future date at the West Side Presbyterian Church in Ridgewood. Arrangements were made by M. John Scanlan Funeral Home in Pompton Plains.
