Stable hosts Nebbeling exhibit, artist reception Patricia Nebbeling will present her exhibit “Recent Works” at the Stable Art Gallery throughout the month of January. Before becoming a full-time professional artist, Nebbeling worked as a chemical engineer and website developer. She discovered that oil painting is a more satisfying, challenging, and complex vocation than any of her other career experiences. Nebbeling draws inspiration from her teachers, John Philip Osborne and Daniel Wexler, who have guided her on her journey to capturing the light and beauty in landscape, still lifes, and portraiture. Her exhibit includes depictions of the northeast landscape. Almost all her work is painted alla prima in order to best capture the impression of the moment and maintain freshness and spontaneity in her brushwork. Nebbeling, an associate member of the Oil Painters of America, has exhibited her work at the Ridgewood Art Institute, including juried shows there. She is a member of the Mid-Atlantic Plein Air Painters, and was awarded third place at the 2012 High Bridge New Jersey Paint Out. An artist’s reception will be held on Sunday, Jan. 13
