Young architects & engineers test their skills
by John Koster Students from Glen Rock High School’s architecture and engineering course used fiction to vector into fact last week as they met at the Glen Rock Library to confer with the staff and design a “new library” for the borough. The new library is clearly fiction. The library reconstruction completed in 2006 with the last-minute help of David Bolger and the local Masonic Lodge is a source of considerable pride to the borough, and the building is not slated for a real-life overhaul. Dr. Kathleen Regan has been appointed interim superintendent of the Glen Rock School District and will cooperate with prior interim superintendent Raymond Albano for the immediate future. apparent surprise of board members. He remains on retainer on a daily basis to ease the transition. Dr. Ron Verducci, the last regular superintendent, also retired ahead of schedule in 2012. Dr. Regan is noted for her development of an arts program in the school system and for reaching out to parents through an Internet site. Her appointment officially runs through March 15, but board members reportedly expect to have a full-time superintendent on the roster in the near future. J. KOSTER
