This fun-filled day will include live music, food, a vendor village, and children’s rides and games. The day will also include a the Wyckoff Chamber of Commerce Chili Cook Off, which is a benefit for the Wyckoff Volunteer Fire Department and Ambulance Corps, and a scavenger hunt. Monday at the Movies slated The Wyckoff Public Library, located at 200 Woodland Avenue, presents free screenings of movies on Mondays at 2 p.m. On June 3, see “Secretariat” (2010) starring Diane Lane and John Malkovich. The film features the impressive story of Penny Chenery Tweedy, the singular owner who saw magic in a precocious but unheralded colt. The film is rated PG and is 123 minutes long. The June 10 feature will be “Letters to Juliet” (2010). Starring Amanda Seyfried, Gael Garcia Bernal, and Vanessa Redgrave, this movie follows a young American woman to Italy, where she finds an unanswered “letter to Juliet,” one of thousands of missives left at the fictional woman’s Verona courtyard. Inspired, she goes on a quest to find the lovers named in the letter. The movie is rated PG and is 105 minutes long. “Skyfall” (2012) will be presented June 17. The movie stars Daniel Craig, Javier Bardem, and Judi Dench. When Agent James Bond’s latest assignment goes gravely wrong and agents around the world are exposed, MI6 is attacked, forcing M to relocate the agency. With MI6 compromised, M is left with only one ally she can trust: Bond. The famed agent takes to the shadows, following a trail to the mysterious and lethal Silva. This 23rd James Bond film has been called one of the absolute best in the series, partly due to its stellar cast and direction by Sam Mendes. The movie is rated PG and runs for 143 minutes. A screening of “Enchanted” (2007) is set for June 24. The film tells the story of a fairytale princess sent to the present world by an evil queen. After meeting a handsome lawyer, Princess Giselle begins to change her views on life. This PG-rated film stars Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey, and James Marsden, and is 107 minutes long. John Gatti Trio to perform Wyckoff Reformed Church invites the community to the second in its series of smooth jazz and blues concerts on Saturday, June 1 at 8 p.m. The concert, which will feature the John Gatti Trio and Wyckoff resident Bobby DeCaro, will be held at the church, 580 Wyckoff Avenue in Wyckoff. A musician, composer, and arranger for more than three decades, Gatti has played with Truth, The Good Rats, and Grover Kemble and ZaZuZaz. Proficient on piano, organ, and harmonica, Gatti is also an accomplished saxophone, clarinet, and flute player, and one of a small number of keyboardists skilled at playing and programming the breath controller. Gatti has recorded on Arista, Roulette, and several independent labels, and played on many commercials for radio and television. DeCaro played drums in rock bands from his teenage years. He co-founded Truth in 1969 and played with this group from 1969 to 1978. Their song, “I Can’t Go On,” landed on the billboard charts in 1974. DeCaro worked as a recording engineer in New York City until 1981, and cowrote all songs on “Dreams of a Boy” with Phil Garland. He also wrote, produced and engineered many national commercials for radio and television. Jeff Gellis is a jazz, rock, and classical musician skilled in the electric bass guitar and upright double bass. He was a member of Blood, Sweat, and Tears for many years, played with harmonica virtuoso Will Galison, and was the house bass player for SOB’s in New York City. He has appeared on numerous television programs, and has been featured on soundtracks and recordings. Gellis is also a producer and arranger and member of the Bergen Philharmonic. Tickets for the concert are $20 and may be purchased at the church office. Light refreshments, coffee, and cake will be served. Those who attend are welcome to bring additional snacks and beverages. Learn CPR at CHCC Christian Health Care Center in Wyckoff is offering a free American Heart Association “Family & Friends CPR Anytime” program on Tuesday, June 4. The program will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. in the CHCC Auditorium. Participants are asked to use the 700 Mountain Avenue entrance. The class will cover the basics of CPR for adults, children, and infants. Those who complete the course will receive a practice mannequin, DVD, and certificate of completion. “Family & Friends CPR Anytime” teaches the core skills of CPR, but it is not a certifying or credentialing course. Light refreshments will be served. Class size is limited to 35 participants and preregistration is required. The deadline to register is Friday, June 1. Ohl Jr. Foundation. ‘ParaNorman’ screening planned The Wyckoff Public Library invites teens in grades six through 12 to a screening of “ParaNorman” on Wednesday, May 29. This animated zombie comedy will be shown in the Monroe Room of the library located at 200 Woodland Avenue. The doors will open at 4:30 p.m. and the feature presentation will begin at 5 p.m. Snacks and popcorn will be available. The film is rated PG. To register, call the library at (201) 891-4866. Golf Outing planned Christian Health Care Center will host its 24th Annual Golf Classic on Monday, June 10 at High Mountain Golf Club in Franklin Lakes. The event will feature shotgun starts at 7:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. The registration fee is $250, and includes greens fees, continental breakfast, golf cart, putting contest, a barbecue, hole-in-one cars, awards dinner, golf gift, and door prizes. The outing is sponsored by the Christian Health Care Center Foundation. Proceeds will be used to support CHCC’s 2013 Annual Fund, which will be used for renovations and improvements within Ramapo Ridge Psychiatric Hospital.
