Page 14 THE VILLADOM TIMES I • May 29, 2013 Midlandparknj.org is finally operational. The Borough of Midland Park unveiled its new website earlier this month, and borough officials are eager to have residents use the upgraded, user-friendly version. “We take great pride in our town and hope this site will reflect that sentiment,” said Borough Clerk/Administrator Addie Hanna. Designed by resident John Sondey, the site features “Then and Now” scrolling photos at the top of the home page, with more photos on the history of Midland Park expected to be included in a future page. A background photo of a borough scene also on the home page will change with the seasons. “Midland Park is proud of its past and strives to preserve our history through our sense of community and small town hospitality,” Hanna explained. The site is now up to date with events, town meeting agendas and minutes. It has quick reference icons so users have access to all events. e-code is hooked up New website, midlandparknj.org, is ready to use for access to all municipal ordinances. Forms for all departments can be downloaded, and court tickets can be paid online. Also included are photos of the mayor and council, links to the schools, Memorial Library, the recreation department as well as the various sports organizations in town, the police department and other emergency services and local houses of worship. Hanna said the site will be updated weekly. “We’ll be on top of it,” she said, since this had been a major concern with the previous site. The administrator said department heads will be in charge of keeping their sites up to date. Also included on the new site is a custom map of the borough, updated and drawn up by Sondey. It includes every borough street, many of which were missing from previous versions. Mpnj.com will be deactivated next month. That site was controlled by the previous webmaster, who created the original site in 2008 “but was lax in updating our website and many times was out of contact with the borough,” commented Mayor Patrick “Bud” O’Hagan. The mayor, while proud of the updated method of communication and the information it contains, stressed he doesn’t want residents to forget the traditional option for residents to find out about Midland Park and what’s going on. “The second and quicker way is to call 201-4455720, and a friendly person will answer the call without requiring pressing 1, 2 or some other digit. That person will direct the caller to the right source, or he or she will offer to do the search and return the telephone call promptly. It sounds revolutionary, but we have found that it works very well,” the mayor quipped. “Please make note of our new address (www.midlandparknj.org), update your bookmarks and enjoy your visit,” Hanna invited.
