He owned and operated the first storefront restaurant in Ridgewood, Cervino’s, for eight years. From 1968 to 1986, he operated Cervino’s Brickhouse Inn in Wyckoff. In 1988, he opened Cervino’s Wine Cottage in Ridgewood, which he operated until 2006. He served as president of the Ridgewood Chamber of Commerce in the ‘60s. As a young man, he received an award from President Harry Truman for his role in saving a woman from an oncoming car. He is survived by his wife Grace (nee Scordato), his children Michele LaBarbiera, Daniele Fede, and Thomas, and three grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents Thomas and Mary Cervino, and his brother Patrick Cervino. Arrangements were made by Vander Plaat Funeral Home in Wyckoff. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He was a graduate of Fordham University. He received his LLB from Georgetown University and his LLM from George Washington University. Before retiring in 1987, he was a lawyer for Kidde, Inc. in Saddle Brook, where he was vice chairman and served as chief counsel. He was a parishioner of Most Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church in Franklin Lakes. He is survived by his wife Margaret M. Ficca (nee Kennedy) of Franklin Lakes, his children David K. Ficca of Maryland, Thomas K. Ficca of Upper Saddle River, William F. Ficca of Indiana, Raymond G. Ficca of Virginia, and Marykate Menapace of Hawthorne. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and his brother Francis R. Ficca of Pennsylvania. Born in Texas during the Great Depression, she became a women’s clothing designer and volunteered for the Texas USO during World War II. She was a member of Ridgewood’s Emmanuel Baptist Church. Along with her husband Carl Ficke, she raised her family in Saddle River. She and her husband later retired to Cedar Crest. She is survived by two children, a stepson, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. George E. “Bud” Gallant of Whiting, formerly of Ridgewood, Ramsey, and Wyckoff, died March 17. He was 89. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. Geoffrey Curran Rosamond Geoffrey Curran Rosamond of Jersey City, formerly of Bayonne, Paramus, and Franklin Lakes, died March 18. He was 71. He graduated from Holy Trinity High School in Hackensack and Kings College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. He received a law degree from Catholic University in Washington, D.C. in 1967. He continued to take courses at in international law while working in the early Nixon administration on the legal staff for Secretary of Housing and Urban Development George Romney. He was an assistant Bergen County Prosecutor. He opened his own practice in Hackensack, and moved it to Franklin Lakes in 1979. He served seven terms on the Franklin Lakes Council, and was named to the New Jersey Elected Officials Hall of Fame in 2001. During that time, he served on the recreation commission and was responsible for the youth sports ordinance entitled “Kids First, Winning Second.” In 2002, he became a workers’ compensation judge, and retired in 2011. He was an adjunct professor at Ramapo College, Fairleigh Dickinson University, and Saint Peter’s College. He was a volunteer art tour guide at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. He coached baseball and other sports for his children. He is survived by his children Geoffrey N. Rosamond of Morris Plains, Laurice C. Carbonell of Brooklyn, New York, Christopher N. Rosamond of Oakland, and Brian N. Rosamond of Saddle Brook. He is also survived by six grandchildren, and his sister Karen Runz of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. She was 81. Before retiring in 2004, she was a vice president of Athome Medical in Hackensack. She was a member of Most Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church in Franklin Lakes, where she had been active in the Renew Prayer Group. She is survived by her children Jeremiah F. O’Connor of Franklin Lakes, Margaret Chirico of Oakland, Kevin P. O’Connor of Edgewater, Brian D. O’Connor of Schenectady, New York, and Robert S. O’Connor of Morristown, and 12 grandchildren. Ver Hage of Midland Park, five grandchildren, and one great-grandson. She is also survived by her sister Sandy Agathokleous of Roebling. Weil of Franklin Lakes, formerly of North Haledon and Vermont, died March 17. He was 83. In the early 1960s, he and his brother Melvin built the Singapore Motel in Wildwood Crest. He was the owner of General Office Environments in Saddle Brook. He was a former police commissioner and councilman in North Haledon and was a former North Haledon Board of Education trustee. He is survived by his wife of Antonia (nee Toni Cadete), his children Garth Weil of Franklin Lakes, Stacey Barbarito of North Haledon, Bradley J.
