Ryan Noon sworn in as probationary patrolman
by John Koster Former Wyckoff Police Dispatcher Ryan G. Noon is now Wyckoff Probationary Patrolman Ryan G. Noon with the hearty approval of Chief Benjamin Fox and the Wyckoff Township Committee. “His appointment tonight is special because he is a special person and he has contributed so much to the community,” said Chief Fox at the public meeting. Mayor Rudy Boonstra remembered seeing Noon, then a dispatcher and a member of the Wyckoff Emergency Management Council and the volunteer ambulance corps, helping during Hurricane Sandy when Boonstra was also helping residents who had lost electricity and heat, in some cases for more than a week. “Good people have been selected by the chief and have developed up through the ranks, and Ryan is a good example of that,” Township Committeeman Kevin Rooney added. The vote on Noon’s appointment was unanimous and each township committeeman added brief statements of approval for his record of service to Wyckoff. Noon, 28, grew up in Wyckoff and (continued on page 8)
