The session will be held Aug. 19 through 23. The program will be held at the DePhillips Center at 50 Dairy Street under the direction of KidzArt. Classes will meet from 9 a.m. to noon for children in kindergarten through grade five, and from 1 to 4 p.m. for students in grades six through eight. The cost is $195. Library hosts ‘drop in’ program The Midland Park Library will hold a drop in story time for children ages two through six. Two- and three-year-olds are invited on Thursday, June 20; children ages four through six may attend on Tuesday, June 18. Both sessions will begin at 10:30 a.m. and include stories and a craft. On Friday, June 28, the library will present a screening of “Oz the Great and Power- ful” (PG) at 2 p.m. The film will be shown in the meeting room. Midland Park High School announces Good Samaritan Awards Midland Park High School has announced its Good Samaritan Award recipients for May. Programs for teens available The Midland Park Memorial Library will host a Summer Jam music series in July and August. Teen musicians and singers are invited to perform on Tuesday nights at 7:30 p.m. in the library’s teen room. MPBA seeks candidates The Midland Park Basketball Association is seeking volunteers to fill the positions of board president and secretary beginning this fall. Both positions involve three-year terms of office. Board members are responsible for organizing the recreation and travel basketball program for boys and girls in kindergarten through high school. Vacation Bible School planned The Midland Park Christian Reformed Church at 183 Godwin Avenue invites children ages four years through those who will be entering sixth grade in the fall to attend Athens 2013 VBS: Paul’s Dangerous Journey to Share the Truth. Junior class hosts fundraiser The Midland Park High School Class of 2014 will hold its annual Midland Park Junior Class Basket Fundraiser on Saturday, June 22. The 6:30 p.m. event will be held at Midland Park High School at 250 Prospect Street. The benefit will feature over 200 baskets that include items such as an iPad, sports memorabilia, and gift certificates. Tickets are $15 and include 25 prize basket tickets.
