Phillips Junior Smoking ban (continued from page 4) properties where smoking is prohibited by this chapter. The sign(s) shall have the words ‘Smoke Free Zone’ in lettering that is not less than two inches in height and shall contain the international no-smoking sign or symbol.” The township committee plans to revise the ordinance for re-introduction at a date not yet announced. “I don’t want people walking in Russell Farms to have smoke blown in their faces if they walk behind smokers,” Rooney said. He said some areas might possibly be set aside for people who smoke, but that these would not be areas used by athletes, their families, or people taking nature walks. In other business, Rooney said that five large rhododendrons had been donated from a property that had been sold. Wyckoff Department of Public Works crewmen transplanted them on the berm at Russell Farms. Rooney invited others who have unwanted quality plants to donate those plants to the township, rather than have them go through the chipper or into a dumpster. “We would be very appreciative,” Rooney said. “It really gives some character to that big berm, and we appreciate it.” Joseph Kraiza Dennis Putis Joyce A.
