This program for students in grades three through six will meet on Tuesdays beginning July 9. Participants will be chosen by lottery. Space is limited. The event will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Monroe Room of the Wyckoff Public Library. The event will feature snacks, zombie games, and more. Zombie costumes and pre-registration are required. Carnival coming to town The Lions Clubs of Franklin Lakes and Wyckoff will host a carnival at McBride Field (across from the Market Basket) in Franklin Lakes June 19 through 23. The event will feature 17 rides, 15 games, and food. The carnival will be open from 6 to 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, and from 6 to 11 p.m. on Friday. Hours will be 3 to 11 p.m. on Saturday and 3 to 8 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets for the carnival amusements may be purchased in advance at a discount at the following locations: Cartridge World, 830 Franklin Avenue, Franklin Lakes; Columbia Bank, 60 Godwin Avenue, Midland Park; and Tons of Toys, 315 Franklin Avenue, Wyckoff. Wristbands, which allow unlimited admission to the amusement rides, are $25 and are available on Wednesday and Sunday. New date for blood pressure screening The free blood pressure screening provided by the Wyckoff Ambulance Corps has been rescheduled for Wednesday, June 12 from 9:30 to 11: 30 a.m. The screening will be held at the Wyckoff Family YMCA at 691 Wyckoff Avenue. The program will not be held during July and August. Screenings will resume Sept. 4, and will continue on the first Wednesday of each month. Those who wish to be screened must show a photo ID to gain access to the building. Appointments are not required. Y to host Spring Concert The in-house choruses of the Wyckoff Family YMCA will perform on Thursday, June 13 under the direction of Georgianna Pappas. This free concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. in program room 5 located on the lower level of the Y. The choruses will sing a combination of old American tunes, jazz tunes, and songs from various movies, including “Chicken Run,” “Aristocats,” “The Hunger Games,” and “Toy Story.” A reception will follow. Join the Spring Lake Stingrays Swimmers ages six through 18 are invited to try out for the Wyckoff Y’s summer Spring Lake Stingrays swim team on Saturday, June 15. Prospective Stingrays will try out from noon to 2 p.m. at the Wyckoff Family YMCA’s Spring Lake at 691 Wyckoff Avenue in Wyckoff. Swimmers must bring a bathing suit, cap, and goggles. In case of inclement weather, tryouts will be held indoors at the Y’s Boye Pool. Team practices will be held Monday through Friday, June 24 through July 30. Swim meets are held on Monday and Thursday nights at 5 p.m. To be eligible for the team, children age eight and under must complete 25 yards of freestyle and backstroke without stopping. Golf Outing announced The Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Wyckoff will host its 17th Annual Charity Golf Classic at Haworth Country Club in Haworth on June 24. Located at 5 Lake Shore Drive in Haworth, the Haworth Country Club was designed by legendary golf designer and architect Robert Trent Jones Jr. The club was selected to host the U.S. Open Qualifying Rounds for NJ in 2002, 2006, 2009, and 2013. The event includes golf, lunch, dinner, awards, and an auction. The registration deadline is June 10. All are welcome to participate. Proceeds from this event benefit the church’s local and national charitable ministries and programs. Register for nursery school’s camp Registration for Grace Nursery School’s summer camp program is under way. The Summer Full of Fun program is open to children ages three through five, and runs eight weeks in June, July, and August. Classes meet from 9 a.m. to noon and two-, three-, and five-day programs are available. Each week, campers participate in special theme activities. The classes are set up for 15 children per class with a teacher and an assistant. The cost for non-registered Grace Nursery School students is $110 for the five-day program, $78 for the three-day program, and $56 for the two day program.
