Michael DeMaio promoted to rank of sergeant
Michael R. DeMaio has been promoted to the rank of sergeant on the Wyckoff Police Department. Sergeant DeMaio began his employment with the Township of Wyckoff as a dispatcher in 2004. In July 2006, he was appointed as a probationary police officer and graduated from the Bergen County Police Academy in December 2006. Sergeant DeMaio currently is the officer in charge of the police department computer system that connects to criminal justice records and handles audits of those records with the New Jersey State Police. He is also a certified field training officer for new recruits. He will be assigned as a patrol sergeant in charge of a squad of officers. A graduate of Wood-Ridge High School, Sgt. DeMaio graduated from Thomas Edison State College in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. DeMaio resides in North Haledon with his wife Rachel.
