The restaurant will donate 20 percent of all lunch, dinner, and takeout orders. The Lions Club has a limited supply of brooms available for sale. The brooms are being sold for $15, and the proceeds allow the Lions to help those who are blind and/or visually impaired. Student assistance available The Student Assistance Program at Midland Park High School will offer summer appointments on Wednesdays, July 17, 24, and 31, and Aug. 14 and 28 from noon to 4 p.m. The student assistance counselor, Mr. Rush, will be available to meet with students and parents to discuss a variety of topics, including personal, social, and family concerns, grief, separation and divorce issues, friendships, relationships, and substance abuse. Farmers market coupons available to seniors The Northwest Bergen Senior Activity Center is accepting applications for the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program. Income eligibility guidelines are $21,257 annual income for one person and $28,694 annual income for two people. Applicants who qualify will receive $20 in coupons to use at local farmers markets. Coupons are available to Bergen County seniors only. Proof of income and photo identification must be provided. A wide variety of activities, services, and a hot lunch program are offered Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Library hosts children’s programs The Midland Park Library invites children ages three years and older to a Dinosaur Excavation on July 24. The program will begin at 3 p.m. Attendees will dig up fossils. On July 26, children in second grade and up are welcome to make bracelets out of Duct Tape. This program will begin at 3:30 p.m. Children of all ages may now register for the Dig into Reading summer program. Participants will receive a reading log and a Dig into Reading bag. On Friday, July 19, the library will present a screening of “Ivan the Incredible” (PG). The film begins at 2 p.m. in the meeting room. Children under nine must be accompanied by a parent. Vacation Bible School planned The Midland Park Christian Reformed Church at 183 Godwin Avenue invites children ages four years through those who will be entering sixth grade in the fall to attend Athens 2013 VBS: Paul’s Dangerous Journey to Share the Truth. Mega Sports Camp Vacation Bible School from Aug. 5 through 9. The program will be held at the church located at 269 Godwin Avenue. Participants will learn some fast breaking moves in flag football, basketball, soccer, track and field, cheerleading, and golf. Coaches will be on hand to help campers learn how to break free from self-doubt, lying, bad choices, selfishness, and fear. Summer Art Camp set Midland Park Recreation will offer a Summer Art Camp for children in kindergarten through grade eight. The session will be held Aug. 19 through 23. Classes will meet from 9 a.m. to noon for children in kindergarten through grade five, and from 1 to 4 p.m. for students in grades six through eight. The cost is $195.
