On July 16, The Joyful Noises quartet from East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania will perform gospel and secular music in inspirational barbershop harmonies. On Aug. 20, the Garden State Harmonica Club will present a variety of lively tunes played on an even wider variety of harmonicas. The final concert of this series will be Sept. 17, when the Ramapo Valley Ramblers will return with their Bluegrass music. Concerts begin at 7 p.m. at the gazebo on the Holland Christian Home campus, located at 151 Graham Avenue in North Haledon. Performances will be moved indoors to the home’s chapel in the event of inclement weather. Seating is provided, but attendees are invited to bring their favorite lawn chairs. Center seeks baby items, air conditioner Lighthouse Pregnancy Resource Center, a free, confidential service for women, men, and teens in pregnancyrelated crisis is seeking a window air conditioner for its material support room used by volunteers and moms. Summer baby clothing, new or gently-used, is needed for new moms and dads enrolled in the center’s parenting education programs. With modern lifestyles becoming more stressful, individuals may be at risk for a variety of health problems such as heart disease, obesity, peptic ulcers, irritable bowel syndrome, and more. Learn how stress can affect overall For almost 70 years, the Valley Hospital Auxiliary has been serving as community liaison for The Valley Hospital. In addition to providing financial support and volunteer service to the hospital, the auxiliary has been awarding college scholarships to accomplished high school graduates who plan to pursue a health-related career. Art institute hosts Summer Show The Ridgewood Art Institute’s 2013 Members Summer Show will be on display through Aug. 30 at 12 East Glen Avenue in Ridgewood. The show features selected works by Ridgewood Art Institute member artists. On exhibit are representational paintings in oils, watercolors, and pastels, and drawings.
