Page 8 THE VILLADOM TIMES I • February 27, 2013 Wyckoff Spring Fling Dinner Dance to benefit WEF by John Koster The Wyckoff Education Foundation, which raises funds for Wyckoff’s public schools without further imposition on taxpayers, will hold its Spring Fling Dinner Dance Masquerade Ball, “Unmask the Future” on March 15. This benefit will be held at Macaluso’s in Hawthorne from 7 to 11 p.m. Proceeds will support the STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) initiative in Wyckoff’s K-8 public schools. “Over the last two years, the generous support of our Wyckoff community allowed WEF to purchase 250 iPads for use in our K-8 classrooms throughout the district,” said WEF President Robert Bayer. “In collaboration with Wyckoff School Superintendent Rich Kuder, WEF is now working on funding innovative programs in the science, tech, engineering, and math disciplines in our Wyckoff schools. It’s an exciting project for WEF and we are looking forward to giving our children new tools for learning in this area.” WEF Trustee and local restaurateur Howard Felixbrod added, “I think a lot of people do not realize how much this foundation does for the Wyckoff school system. We’ve donated thousands of dollars over the years for many different projects that the teachers or principals have put together. Last year alone, we donated $50,000 so that the schools could purchase iPads.” Unmask the Future will feature Trippin’ Carla, a name-brand New Jersey band, a buffet dinner, an open bar, door prizes, and auction items. Tickets are $95 per person. To register or make a donation, visit www. wyckoff.org or contact Todd at toduffy07@gmail. com, Greg at gwilson0001@gmail.com, or Daniella at drubes1024@gmail.com.
